Beyonce and Shakira: New Song!
+ February 27, 2007

The Beyonce and Shakira duet, “Beautiful Liar“, finally leaked and we’ll let you get your first listen here! The song has Beyonce singing in English and Shakira singing in Spanish. Originally Beyonce was singing both parts but recruited the Columbian hottie to help her out! Definitely an upgrade in my book. What do you think: Upgrade or Downgrade?

+ February 27, 2007
We, at the Institute of B. Scott, believe it is our duty to put our love muffins up on the latest and greatest in the world. Serving up daily dosages of coup d’états is what we do best and that means education is key.
Today’s lesson is in music.
Lesson: A good beat always gets you through the day - especially if it’s house music!

Battle of the Beats…
+ February 27, 2007
In an earlier post we released, for your hearing pleasure, the song “Steam” by Nicole Scherzinger. Lo and behold - Ashanti the Cheshire Cat- has released her own lyrical howl sessions over a similar, if not the same, beat as Nicole’s “Steam.”
Hear the battle of the boom-kats for yourself:
Below is the original beat that was sampled for both Ashanti and Nicole. The track is called “Numbers” by Kraftwerk.

Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado: New Video
+ February 26, 2007
Mega-producer Timbaland recruited his friends, Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, for the his lead single, “Give It To Me”. The song is diss track to all their haters. If you want to know exactly who the song is about you can read our our previous post.
I love the song but the video looks so homemade. It’s like the f#$king Blair Witch Project on acid. I know 5-year-olds who have done better cinematography. Anyway, the video had its world premiere on TRL today. Let me know what you think. Is is a hit or miss? Enjoy Love Muffins.

Gwen Stefani: New Single!
+ February 26, 2007
Gwen Stefani recently announced that her next single from The Sweet Escape will be the 80’s inspired ballad “4 In The Morning“. Personally I couldn’t be happier because I adore this song. She wrote this song when she was pregnant with her song Kingston and her No Doubt bandmate and ex-boyfriend ,Tony Kanal, produced the song.
The song has been getting a lot of buzz and was recently played on episodes of Heroes and Friday Night Lights. It’s a return to the Gwen from No Doubt that we all know and love. Take a listen for yourself and let me know what you think. Enjoy Love Muffins!

New Music: Beyonce & Fall Out Boy
+ February 24, 2007

Beyonce teamed up with Alejandro Fernandez to do “Amor Gitano” (Gypsy Love - I think!). This song was premiered in the debut episode of the new Soap Opera of Telemundo “El Zorro: La Espada y La Rosa” and will be included in the upcoming re-release of B’day due for April 3rd. I have no idea what they’re saying but both of them sound HOT!

I know it’s an unlikely pairing but Fall Out Boy and Kanye West came together to do this banging remix. Some rock purist may not appreciate it but I’m digging it. Check it out!

Music Dish: Ready to Uff!
+ February 23, 2007
[Above: Uffie performs at Social Hollywood/Feadz is mixing]
Pop-electric party girl and crunk/grime rapstress, Uffie (19 years old) was at Social Hollywood in Los Angeles this past wednesday.
Of course, being a B. Scott Love-muffin, I had to go and check out the event. With Ms. Classy by my side, I took a nose-dive into the beat-infested world of the new electro sensation.
More after the jump…

Avril Lavigne: New Video
+ February 23, 2007
Avril Lavigne is back with a video for her first single “Girlfriend” from her third album The Best Damn Thing. The song is CATCHY and you probably won’t be able to get the chorus out of your head after you hear it but whether or not the song good…That’s debatable!
Her bratty obnoxious talk/singing is reminiscent of The Waitresses’ “I Know What Boys Like” (If you’re not familiar look it up!). I’ve never bought into Avril’s faux-punk vibe to begin with but it seems to be working for her. I’ll save my hate for another day. The Best Damn Thing hits stores on April 17 for all you Avril fans out there. Enjoy Love Muffins!
