1. Drink This! “Hennessey Paris”

hennessy-paris.jpg

Hennessey + Triple sec = amazing! A few of us here at lovebscott.com had the opportunity to attend Vapors Magazine’s most recent event at The Point in Los Angeles. The bar offered this gem—something called the Hennessey Paris. If you want to order a similar drink like this at the bar, just ask for the Sidecar. Enjoy!

1 oz Cognac (or Brandy, if you prefer)
1 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Sour mix

Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice. Shake vigorously and strain into separate glass.

2. Watch This! “THE EX”

Zach Braff and Amanda Peet star in this film about an average joe with little ambition (Braff) who is forced to work for his father-in-law after his pregnant wife (Peet) leaves her mega-money job. Peet’s character has an ex-boyfriend that comes into the equation and stirs things up. Looks hilarious!

3. Wear This!

alice-olivia-puff-sleeve-pocket-mini-dress.jpg alice-and-olivia-back.jpg

The Mini Dress is ridiculously hot! Perfect for the weather and amazing for showing off fantastic legs. The above look from Alice + Olivia is the “Puff Sleeve” pocket mini.
We love!

aka-ny-print-laced-front-mini-dress.jpg

This splendiferous mini dress is from AKA New York. This “print laced front” mini has a bright, festive pattern that will brighten up any day and keep you looking orgasmic!

4. Hear This! “Kwame’s Stimulated Remixes”

kwame2.jpg

Kwame will change the way you think about the remix. Producer/musician Kwame started his site, stimulatingmusic, when he realized that he could bring his prolific collection straight to the music lover without going through record labels and execs. Take a listen to a couple of our favorites:

Aaliyah—Rock the Boat Stimulated Remix
Amerie—One Thing Stimulated Remix

This is just a teaser. Check back early next week for a follow up on Kwame and more downloads!

1. Drink This! “The Cadillac Margarita”
Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo, which means you need to pull out your Coronas, Patron and limes of course! The perfect way to toast away the holiday is with a nice, frosty margarita. Try the Cadillac Marg if you really want to step your game up!

ff_tacorosa.jpg

1.5 oz. Patron Silver
3/4 oz. Cointreau
1/4 oz. Grand Marnier
3/4 oz. Fresh lime juice
2 oz. Sweet and sour mix
Splash of orange juice
Salt or sugar

.
Pour all ingredients in shaker and shake until completely mixed. If preferred, line a margarita glass with the juice of a lime and press into a pile of salt (or sugar if you like it sweet). Pour mix into glass and serve.
.
2. Watch This! “Spiderman 3″

It’s finally here! We caught an advance screening of the third installment of the trilogy, and it’s definitely worth seeing for the computer graphics alone. Out of all three films, this one is definitely the weakest in terms of the plot, but the computer animation is top notch. If you’re a fan of the series, you will probably enjoy this movie.

3. Wear This! “The Sexy Summer Dress”
As the weather gets warmer and clothes feel more and more optional, there’s nothing better than a cute dress to keep you feeling cool and looking hot. Add a couple of these to your wardrobe, and you’ll be glad you did.

.
4. Hear This! “Brick & Lace”
This sister group hails from Jamaica, and they’re the first ones signed to Akon’s label Kon Live. They’re like Nina Sky with some patois flavor. Their past credits even includes songs written for Janet Jackson, Nicle Scherzinger and Paris Hilton. If you like what you hear, cop the album on June 26th. Check out their Myspace page to get the lowdown.
.

Here are a few songs:

Repent
Bust A Shot
Take Me Back

5. Do This! “Get Outside”
All Californians are spoiled with typically amazing weather, so you might as well get outside and enjoy it! One really fun thing to do is hiking. From the beach to the mountains, you can find somewhere that’s perfect for you. So lace up your boots because these are our top five picks:

1. Drink This! “The Peartini”

7658.png

3 parts pear flavored vodka (I prefer Grey Goose or Absolut)
1 part Apple Juice
1 part Lemon Juice
2 splashes Simple Syrup

Add all ingredients then shake hard with ice and double strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of pear or a sprig of rosemary. This one is sweet and delicious. Enjoy!

2. Watch This! “The Queen”

The movies coming out this week suck, so I’m not going to tell you to go see any of them. If you’re in the mood for a good movie, you should rent The Queen. Helen Mirren truly gives an Oscar-worthy performance in this riveting move. It’s a must-see!

3. Wear This! “Floral Print”
Floral print isn’t just for your grandmother anymore. Plenty of new designers are spicing up traditional floral designs and making them hip. It’s spring…why not enjoy the flowers? Examples below:
.

Marc Bouwer - Spring 2007 Collection

4. Hear This! Tweet
tweet_news3.jpg

This singer-songwriter has worked with the likes of Madonna and Whitney Houston, but you probably don’t even know her name. Tweet has already had two critically acclaimed albums so she’s really not a new artist by any stretch of the imagination. Recently, I’ve put her soothing soulful music back into my CD rotation so I thought I’d pass it on. Her songwriting is so unique and prolific. For example, on “Cab Ride” she used the theme for the 70’s sitcom Taxi and created an entire song around the concept…Genius! If you like what you hear, you should pick up Southern Hummingbird and It’s Me Again. Take a listen…

Cab Ride
Beautiful
Smoking Cigarettes

5. Do This “Get Some Rest”
200514513-004.jpg

Sleep is tremendously important. It is recommended that everyone get at least 8 hours of sleep each day. Adequate sleep is essential in elevating your mood, improving your immune system, and speeding up your metabolism. This weekend, get some rest. Don’t worry if people call you lazy. You’re just taking care of yourself. Enjoy Love Muffins!

1. Drink This! “The Mojito”

mojito.jpg

3 Fresh mint sprigs
2 Tsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz. light rum
Club soda

In a thin glass, crush half of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir. Add ice, then the rum and mix completely. Top off with cold club soda. Add the remaining mint and serve. (If you’re not a fan of strong mint, feel free to drop in a couple pieces of a peach or mango pulp. Or crush a few thin slices of strawberry and stir them in. You’ll be surprised how refreshing mint-infused fruit can be.) Enjoy!

2. Watch This! “Fracture”

Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling team up in this suspense thriller that opens this weekend. With a cutie like Ryan and a distinguised spine-tingling actor like Anthony, this movie may pull in the numbers that Halle Berry’s “Perfect Stranger” did not!

3. Wear This! “Polka Dots”
Are you looking for one of Spring’s newest fashion trends? Look no further. Polka dots! Spice up your wardrobe with a few sprinklings of these. Examples below:
.

4. Hear This! “Days Go By” by Dirty Vegas

Can you believe it’s already the end of April? Looks like 2007 is literally floating by, so we suggest you don’t waste these days love muffins!

5. Do This “Love Your Planet”
earthdaylogo.gif
Sunday is Earth Day. We’ve seen all of the ads on MTV giving us a new way to conserve our resources each day. You’ve seen the posters about recycling, you’ve heard everything about the high level of carbon emissions, and you’ve been beat over the head about global warming. Perhaps it’s annoying, but it’s true love muffins! Find out what’s going on in an area near you at Earth Day LA.

As the French would say, Grâce Ă Dieu, c’est vendredi. For the rest of you out there, Thank God it’s Friday!

1. Drink This! “Key Lime Martini”

keylimemartini_m.jpg

If you’re in West Hollywood, I suggest you drop by Eleven on a Tuesday night and ask for the Key Lime Martini. It’s unlike any variation you’ve had before. With a few dollops of chocolate and whipped cream blended with Liquor 43, you’ll find yourself slipping into dessert drink bliss in seconds. Try this toned down version at home:

3 Tbsp. Liquor 43
1 Tbsp. citrus vodka
2 Tbsp. key lime juice
2 Tbsp. heavy cream
1 lime
Crushed graham crackers
Sugar

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Cut the lime and rub the pulp of the fruit around the glass. Combine the graham cracker bits and sugar and dip the glass in the mixture creating a ‘crust‘ on the rim of the glass. Strain the key lime liquid into the glass and enjoy!

2. Watch This! “Perfect Stranger”

Halle Berry is back
, and we hope it’s with a vengeance. The movie hits theaters today, so check it out!

3. Wear This! DNKY Wedges

05mdnkywedges.jpg

.
Let’s all go hiking this weekend! This requires proper equipment: DKNY wedges, Marni charcoal knit leggings, Prada backpack and Y-3 socks.
.
4. Hear This! “”To The Club” by Spankox

“To the club” By Spankox is the anthem! Get ready for your weekend and dance the stress away! This Euro-house mix of music is a little bit techno mixed with a little bit of funk. We, at the Institute of B. Scott, always strive to bring you diverse sounds.

Enjoy love muffins!

5. Do This! “Kiss”

tim-flach.jpg

Even though we don’t promote unsafe sex, we do promote getting your swerve on! This video of “You Are My High” by Demon is a masterpiece. Kissing is so orgasmically beautiful that sometimes it’s more enjoyable than what it often leads to. It also is a great stress releasing exercise. In addition, according to onhealth.com, at 3 kisses a day (everyday), one can burn up to 10,000 calories a year! So grab that special someone or find someone special and let the sparks fly.

I’ll start you off…

*DOUBLE KISSES*

2. Watch This! “Grindhouse”

Quentin Tarantino has teamed up with El Mariachi director, Robert Rodriguez, to bring back the old double-feature. Chances are, if you actually went to double features, you probably don’t have a Nintendo addiction or any Christina Aguilera posters on your wall, but Tarantino and Rodriguez are hoping “Grindhouse” will draw fans of all ages back to the theater for their high-energy collective release. The film hits theaters today!

3. Wear This! Isaac Mizrahi for Target

4. Hear This! BeyoncĂ©’s “Still In Love (Kissing You)”

1502_beyonce_sp.jpg

After taking a second listen to BeyoncĂ©’s “Still In Love (Kissing You)” I honestly love the song! Here are some of the song’s lyrics:

I never met love quite before
untill I saw your face
and watching stars
without you my soul cries
My heathing heart is full of pain
when we’re apart
the aching

I have almost had that type of love but as Brandy said almost doesn’t count!

5. Do This! Take A Relaxing Bath!

relaxing_bath.jpg

Lord knows it has been a long week and what better way to let go of the week’s burdens than to take a relaxing splendiferous bath! Just run some warm water, add a couple of bath fizzers, light a candle, turn Diana Krall on , pour a glass of Merlot and jump in! I don’t know what I would do without my daily baths! To me baths represent a special time I take out for myself each day to release and just relax! Enjoy love muffins!

Happy Friday everybody! Take it to the next level this April Fool’s Weekend with some of our suggestions!

1. Drink This! “Sex on The Beach”

1.5 oz. Vodka
2 oz. Cranberry juice
2. oz. Orange juice
2 oz. Pineapple juice

2. Watch This! “Blades of Glory”

As previously reported, a couple of us here at Lovebscott.com were able to check out a screening of this movie. It’s hilarious! If you’re a fan of Will Farrell and/or Jon Heder, you’ll love this movie. It opens in theaters this weekend, so get your tickets!

3. Wear This! THE REINVENTED PANTSUIT!

08mpantsuit.jpg

Rochas
Ottoman suit jacket, $2,580
Pant with printed silk top, $1,685

Available at Barneys New York, NYC, (888) BARNEYS.

4. Hear This! Madonna

madonnabedtime1.jpg

Lately I have been playing Madonna’s “Bedtime Stories” non-stop! The album is great from beginning to end, the highlights of the album for me are “Survival”, “Secret”, “Human Nature” and “I’d Rather Be Your Lover” which is my favorite song from the album!

Here’s a interesting speedup version of “I’d Rather Be Your Lover”:

5. Do This! Culture Yourself!

getty-malibu.jpg

There are several cool museums in LA—you just have to do your research. Take a drive out to Malibu and experience the newly renovated and Roman-inspired Getty Villa. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is constantly updating its exhibits, sponsoring programs and hosting events. If you’re on the Westside, try the Santa Monica Museum of Art. If you want to get back to your roots or explore the history of another, try the Japanese American National Museum, the California African American Museum or the Museum of Latin American Art. If you want to entertain the kids, take them to the Zimmer Children’s Museum or the Kidspace Children’s Museum. Unfortunately, there’s no sex museum! You’ll have to buy a ticket to New York for that!

Work Your Weekend!

+ March 16, 2007

All we have to say is LAUDAMERCY IT’S FRIDAY! You only have a couple days of relaxation, so pick one of these things to really make it memorable.

1. Drink This! “Adios Motherf*$ker”
adios-mf.jpg

It’s going to be ninety degrees in some parts of Southern Cali this weekend, so usher in the warm weather right. On the East coast, you know it as a Long Island Iced Tea. Here on the West Coast, they make it blue and call it an “Adios” or an “A.M.F.” No matter what you call it, one of these will get you crunk!

1/2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. light rum
1/2 oz. gin
1/2 oz. blue curacao
2 oz. sour mix
7-Up

Mix everything together in a Tom Collins glass, garnish with a cherry and sip your way to intoxication. Just be safe doing so!

2. Watch This! “Premonition”

Sandra Bullock is back with a suspense/thriller that will hopefully keep you gripping the arm of your chair. In this movie, Sandra’s plays a housewife whose husband (played by the beautiful Julian McMahon) dies in a car crash and reappears the next day. She has to figure out the clues to this premonition in an attempt to prevent it from happening in real life. There has been a lot of buzz about her return to the big screen, so hopefully it will do well!

3. Wear This! “Get Some Green”
00430m1.jpg 00400m1.jpg [Diane Von Furstenbeg and Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2007 Collections]

00220m1.jpg 00200m.jpg
[Ralph Lauren and Missoni Spring 2007 Collections]

Green isn’t normally my go-to color for fashion but it’s St. Patty’s day. So like it or not you have to rock your green! You don’t want to get PINCHED do you?

4. Hear This! “Once Again”

john_legend.jpg

This album is far from new but I recently put John Legend’s Once Again back in my stereo and I have fallen in love all over again. If you’re a fan of old soul music you must listen to this. It 10x better than his first album.

5. Do This! “Go Irish!”
banner-hat.jpg

Saturday is St. Patrick’s day, but you don’t to be from the land of shamrocks to drink green Guinness (or apple martinis if you’re always and forever classy)! Find the nearest Irish pub or restaurant and make a few new friends because on St. Patty’s Day, anyone can use the phrase ‘Kiss me, I’m Irish’! There are TONS of clubs and sports bars taking advantage of the fact that the holiday is on a Saturday this year, so hit the streets! In fact, start early—some places will serve you eggs and Heineken starting at 6:00 am!
