Movie Review: The Longshots & Traitor

Spoiler Alert - Certain parts of the movie maybe revealed.

The Longshots was a fantastic movie based on true events. This is a great family film featured around the belief that you can do whatever and accomplish whatever if you set your mind to it with the support of others. Keke Palmer’s character Jasmine wanted to be a model, but then realized that she had the gift of being a quarterback for the local football team. With the training from her uncle (Ice Cube), both found something that they could connect with which helped build their relationship with one another. ‘Bangkok Dangerous’ Comes In At #1!

Bangkok Dangerous came in on top at the box office, but selling only $7.8 million worth of tickets which makes it one of the worst debuts this year. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but word has that the movie is not that great.

Ingredients:
1/2 ounce rum
1/2 ounce coconut-flavored rum
1/2 ounce grenadine syrup
1 ounce orange juice
1 ounce pineapple juice
1 cup crushed ice

Directions:
Blend regular rum, coconut rum, grenadine, orange juice, pineapple juice and crushed ice until the texture is like a slush.


2. Watch This! Bangkok Dangerous

Nicholas Cage is starting off the fall movie season with this action/thriller movie. Bangkok Dangerous is supposed to be one of those high paced movies with a lot of edge of your seat moments. I hope that it is all about the hype because Nicholas Cage is a great actor, despite the terrible hair cut they have him sporting in this movie.

3. Wear This! “Cowl Neck Top w/Belt”

This top is super duper cute and it is the very thing you need to look like a star with the fraction of the cost. It’s long and some of you may try to use it as a dress by itself but putting some cute leggings under it may be all you need. You can find it at Forever 21 for $22.80.

Keri Hilson is bringing the ultimate sexy with Tank on her new song. With the LL Cool J beat from his song Doin It and it is definitely doing it for me. For the video they should just have Tank walking around with no shirt on.

5. Do This! “Watch The VMA’s”


The moment we’ve all been waiting for is coming up on this Sunday. The VMA’s usually are an awards show that pleases almost every time. This year again, Britney Spears is opening the show but not in the way that we are used to seeing her. She’s not singing this year and I want to know who I can complain to about that (or is she). Brit Brit has been looking great lately and might just be ready for real this time to perform. Check your local listings for time.

Want Fame? Get Reality!

Everyday it seems a new star emerges, but they’ve achieved a level of super stardom by being themselves, or some variation of it. Reality shows are spitting out “stars” left and right. Many people are going on reality shows to introduce their characters and make a name for themselves not for the million dollar prize or the a title as “the next best something”. One person in particular would be “Jonny Fairplay” a.k.a Jon Dalton.

I feel personally that I raped reality television and I’m happy about that. The million dollars was never my primary goal. My goal was to create the character of ‘Jonny Fairplay’ and keep that character on television for as long as possible.

Jon said he receives $2,000 to $15,000 to appear at nightclubs, conventions, and on other TV shows. With that income he’s able to afford a three-bedroom house in his hometown of Danville, Va. and the ability to care for his wife and baby daughter. Love muffins there are just too many people to name who have become famous off of reality television. Some we may forget about in a few months, others we’ll remember longer. What do you think about stars emerging from something that wasn’t really designed to make stars?

Keith, Natasha, & Usher Kick Off!

Usher, Keith Urban and Natasha Bedingfield will kick off the NFL season with a free concert in today in Manhattan’s Columbus Circle. The NFL will air portions of the concert live on its network prior to Thursday night’s game between the Giants and the Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium! I am so excited and anxious to see what Usher has planned for this HUGE venue, considering the fact that he’s busy gearing up for more a intimate concert. Love muffins will you be tuning in?

Britney Spears on MTV Music Awards!

Love muffins it seems that Britney will be appearing on the MTV Music Awards this Sunday! Van Toffler, the president of MTV Networks Music Group said that Britney’s appearance will be something “fun and unexpected”. I am really looking forward to seeing Britney open up the show. I hope that her performance this year is one million times better than her 2007 “comeback”!

MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs? I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated, Spears said in a statement.

I think for Britney, people are rooting for her, and she’s really on the road to recovery,” Toffler said, noting that MTV had nominated her for three VMAs, including video of the year, for her clip “Piece of Me.

It feels like it’s her year, he added. “It’s our 25th anniversary of the VMAs, and she’s been such a critical piece of MTV’s history.

New Movie Review: Babylon A.D.

Over the weekend, I saw Vin Diesel’s new movie Babylon A.D., and honestly I could have saved my money. The movie took forever to reveal who the girl that Vin’s character had to save really was and what powers she held while the rest of the world was at war with one another. I should have went with my gut feeling to watch Traitor instead, because it went downhill when the director of the movie even trashed the film. The movie is not that bad, but after seeing some of the best parts in the movie trailer, you would think that the movie would have been fulfilling. People can’t even die properly - why must actors/actresses over act? I wouldn’t even rent this movie, just wait until it comes on television. I did enjoy seeing Vin though, with his smooth white chocolate bald head as it sent tingles up and down my spine! Take me higher lord!
