The Artists Get Together To Sing!

Love muffins, I literally jumped out of my seat once I found out that the Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige will be singing on the same song amongst other talented singers! Thank you Jesus! The single is called “Just Stand Up” and it is for ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ campaign.

The unprecedented gathering features vocals from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. The tune is being produced by the powerhouse duo of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid, who are working together for the first time in nearly 20 years. The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes on September 2 and will get its TV premiere on September 5 during the live “Just Stand Up” special, which will air simultaneously and commercial-free on CBS, ABC and NBC. Several celebrities including Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, and Mary J. Blige hit up L A Reid’s Hamptons Party last Saturday. I pray dearly that Mariah and Mary get into the studio soon, because I know it will be a classic hit! Does anyone else agree? Ciara and that lickable luscious LL Cool J also attended the party. Mary J. Blige recently did her version of “Supernatural” which sond to appear on Ciara’s upcoming album Fantasy Ride. As much as I love Mary’s voice, this song sounds much better when Ciara sings it. ‘Thisday Africa Rising Festival’!

The ‘3rd Thisday Africa Rising Festival’ continued Sunday on Day 2 with performances by Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige in Lagos, Nigeria. When Chris took off his shirt, fans started screaming and hollering - straight loosing their minds! Mary’s jumpsuit was not the business let me tell you. I always get nervous for female celebrities who wear such tight pants or skirts - I fear if they move too much or bend over too quickly everyone around them will hear a rip. If they forget to wear undies (or decide not to) that day, they will no doubt feel a breeze. Also who let Naomi Campbell hold a baby? Did her material instincts kick in?
