Mariah Carey Working On New Album!
+ April 25, 2007
Mariah is recording her tenth studio album. She booked a whole month in Anguilla’s biggest villa and had a studio built in! Now that’s a diva!
This album comes after the highly successful The Emancipation of Mimi which became 2005’s best-selling album in the U.S., won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album and received some of Carey’s most favorable reviews in some time. The second single, “We Belong Together”, held the Hot 100’s number-one position for fourteen weeks (her longest run at the top as a solo lead artist) and was the biggest hit of 2005 in the U.S., while “Shake It Off” made Carey the only female artist to occupy the Hot 100’s top two positions simultaneously, other than Ashanti in 2002. “Don’t Forget About Us” became her seventeenth number-one in the U.S., tying her with Elvis Presley for the most number-ones by a solo act according to Billboard magazine’s revised methodology (their statistician Joel Whitburn still credits Presley with an eighteenth. The Beatles had twenty number-ones.) In 2007 Carey will receive a “recording star” on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame October 21, 2007.
According to an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she has already begun to work on her next studio album, which is expected for release in November of 2007. According to a November 2006 Reuters report, Universal Music Group CEO, Doug Morris, has stated that Carey will release two albums in 2007.
Mariah To Star In Film With Adam Sandler?
+ April 19, 2007
Dennis Dugan is set to direct the comedy You Don’t Mess With the Zohan for Columbia Pictures and Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison. He’s re-teaming with Sandler in the film centering on a Mossad agent (Sandler) who fakes his death so he can move to New York and become a hairstylist. The Hollywood Reporter says Rob Schneider already has boarded the project as an East Yistannen cab driver. According to Hollywood.com, the cast will also reportedly include Mariah Carey, Henry Winkler and Talia Shire. Judd Apatow, Robert Smigel and Sandler wrote the screenplay for You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. Shooting will begin in the summer in Los Angeles and New York for a summer 2008 release.
New Music: Bone Thugs and Mariah Carey!
+ April 11, 2007
When Mariah Carey and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony first teamed up on “Breakdown”, I was instantly a fan. Well, Mariah recently returned the favor by adding voice to “Lil’ L.O.V.E” for the rap group’s new album Strength and Loyalty, which is set to hit stores on May 8th. The chorus is catchy and you can definitely hear an influence from Jermaine Dupri, but I’m not sure this song lives up to lyrical sophistication of “Breakdown”. A preview version of “Lil’ L.O.V.E.” just leaked so I thought I’d let you guys tell me what you think. A longer version of the song featuring Bow Wow will be sent to radio soon and I’ll have that one for you when it’s ready, but for now you can listen to this. What do you think of the new song?????

Excuse while I reminisce…
Mariah Carey To Adopt A Child?
+ April 3, 2007
Mariah Carey may be the next celebrity to adopt a child from a foreign country! Sources say that Mimi, who is currently filming her next movie “Tennessee”, recently visited the Frank Gonzalez Mexican Orphanage with her lawyer in hopes of possibly adopting children! When asked about the validity of these claims Carey’s reps said they “don’t comment on Mariah’s personal life.”
I think Mimi would be the coolest mother ever! We know she loves swimming with dolphins and considers herself to be eternally 12. Sounds like a perfect match to me! What do you think?
P.S.- Our sources also say there’s already Oscar buzz surrounding her role in “Tennessee”. Mariah plays Krystal, an aspiring singer who flees her controlling husband (Lance Reddick) to join a man named Carter (Adam Rothenberg) and his younger brother Ellis (Ethan Peck) as they set out on a journey from New Mexico to Tennessee to find their estranged father. Along the way, they realize the trip might hold Ellis’s life in the balance.
Happy Birthday B@#ches!
+ March 27, 2007
Happy Birthday to Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie (1975) andpop singer Mariah Carey (1970). March has to be the most popular month for birthdays. It seems like every day someone famous is having a birthday party. Just in the past week Rosie O’Donnell, Kevin Federline, Hugh Hefner, Star Jones and your’s truly have all had brithdays. I guess there was a lot of baby making going on 9 months ago!
Who looks older, Mariah or Fergie?
Flashback Video: Mariah Carey

.
Good morning love muffins! I thought I would share with you Mariah Carey’s “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life” video from her underrated Glitter album. The movie might have belonged on Vh1 but this video is smoking hot!
Flashback Video: Whitney and Mariah
+ March 14, 2007
Another duet love muffins. This song wasn’t quite the “Battle of the Divas” everyone hoped that it would be but it’s still good to see these two sing a song together. “When You Believe” was a little too mushy for me. Secretly I was hoping Whitney and Mariah would do something like Brandy and Monica but it didn’t happen! I guess you take what you can get!
See a nice surprise after the jump |inline
