‘Tropic Thunder’ Premiere!

The stars came out to support Ben Stiller at the Los Angeles premiere of Tropic Thunder on Monday. During the event, many people were out front picketing the movie because they believed that people with mental disabilities were being made fun of. However, Ben said that it was not the case.

“It’s sort of edgy territory, but we felt that as long as the focus was on the actors who were trying to do something to be taken seriously that’s going too far or wrong, that was where the humor would come from”…Tropic Thunder cowriter Etan Cohen [added] “Some people have taken this as making fun of handicapped people, but we’re really trying to make fun of the actors who use this material as fodder for acclaim. The last thing you want is for people to think you’re making fun of the victims in this who are having their lives turned into fodder for people to win Oscars.” E!

Eva has a new movie, The Spirit, slated for a December 2008 release in which her co-stars include Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Speaking of Samuel, I recently saw Eva’s lastest movie The Cleaner also co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris. It was pretty good. On Sunday, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri decided to have some mommy and daughter time while in matching ensembles. That is super duper adorable!

Love muffins, there is more to Katie Holmes than being wife to the couch jumping Tom Cruise - can you seriously imagine Katie jumping in mid-air hollering “show me the money”? Ok, maybe I can, just a little. She is starring in her Broadway debut in Arther Miller’s All My Sons. She will be starring along side John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson. I’m sure she will do very well in the play and I’m happy for her. Would you like to see Katie on Broadway? Do you think she will be jumping on any couches soon?
