The THISDAY music festival now in its third year is meant to showcase talents from the African continent. It aims to paint a positive picture of a continent viewed by the international community as a hopeless case. With more than 23 African countries growing at an average rate of five per cent in the last few years, the festival intends to draw attention to the success stories hardly told in the Western media. Rihanna and Jay-Z performed their smash hit “Umbrella” at the ‘3rd Thisday Africa Rising Festival’ in Abuja, Nigeria on Friday night. Rihanna looked super duper hot on stage! Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri attended the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2009 Haute Couture fashion show in Paris on Tuesday - I must say Janet looks stunning in brown. Jay-Z hosted a dinner party in London with the help of GQ on Wednesday night. Supermodel Naomi Campbell attended as well, and was not kicked out of the party like she was for Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebration. Her ensemble might have to grow on me. Jay-Z Responds To Amy!

Jay-Z has responded to Amy Winehouse’s attack on Kanye West this past weekend at the Glastonbury Festival. Amy introduced Jay-Z to the stage by saying:

“Imagine if it was a c*nt like Kanye West. ‘C*nts like Kanye’ should be his next album title.”

Jay-Z told MTV.com:

“She said something about Kanye late on (in her set) but I didn’t hear it and I don’t agree with it. He’s my brother and the biggest artist on Roc-a-fella (records) right now. I guess I should hook them up because he’s a great guy too. I don’t know what the problem is - I don’t know where that (comment) came from.”

Jay-Z was very respectful and nice in his response to Amy, he could’ve been a whole lot harder on her. I think he understands her battle with drugs and her health right now, so he is letting her slide. Love muffins, thoughts?

Beyonce Cheers On Jay-Z!

Beyonce looked divine in her shades and skinny blue jeans as she watched in the crowd as her husband Jay-Z performed in Glastonbury Saturday night to a cheering crowd. Fans of Jay-Z were outraged when Noel Gallager, guitarist for Oasis, tried to protest that he should not be apart of their annual Glastonbury rock music festival.

In April, Gallagher slammed the booking of Jay-Z to headline to festival as “wrong”, declaring: “I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.” [Yahoo News]

Beyonce And Jay Z At Bar Pitti!

Yesterday, I posted some pictures of Beyonce at Bar Pitti in New York City without Jay Z. However, pictures surfaced with Beyonce and Jay Z at the restaurant, so they indeed did dine out together. I want to know why her bodyguard touched her hands several times. It looks like he was trying to wipe something off her hand, because I know he wouldn’t try anything in front of Jay himself. Thoughts?
