Shontelle is a Bajan singer/songwriter from Barbados (where fashion diva Rihanna is from) who has debuted her US music video “T-Shirt” from her upcoming album Shontelligence. The ladies were actually featured on J-Status’ 2006 song “Roll It” together. There is enough room for everyone to be fans of both ladies, but do you think Shontelle has staying power? Does anyone else think this song resembles Chris Brown’s “With You”?

i like the song too but it does sound like “with you”. it’s very obvious. i don’t think she was trying to jack his tune but you can almost sing his words to her song and it goes together.
i don’t know if she’ll be big. i think she’ll kinda be like megan rochelle. i like megan rochelle but she isn’t HUGE. i didn’t hear of her til like 2006 and even then i think she had been around since before that…..

I didn’t get WITH YOU from that song but she does look like Rihanna. And I don’t think anyone thought Rihanna had staying power when her first video came out. So who knows?

Just so yall know, shontelle is signed to Rihanna’s production company SRP…yes rihanna has a production company along with evan rogers and some other white dude, also they went to school together and shontelle and rihanna did a reggae remix to unfaithful and have performed it like 3 times in barbados, so there will be no rivalry against them……Love shontelle and this song
