‘Fashion Rocks 2008′ Performances!

September 10, 2008

Love muffins, here are a few of performances from some of our favorite artists which aired Tuesday night during the 2008 Fashion Rocks. Rihanna did the best that she could do when she performed “Vogue” by Madonna, Chris Brown’s use of the auto tune I could have done without, Beyonce’s rendition of Etta James’ classic “At Last” was just beautiful, Mary J. Blige sounded great during her performance with Kid Rock. Even though Justin Timberlake didn’t do it for me when he performed a song by Marvin Gaye, I thought his duet with Beyonce singing “Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing” was great! View more performances by Solange and the Pussycat Dolls plus much more after the jump -

Christ Brown - Forever

Beyonce - At Last

Mariah Carey - I’m That Chick

Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Kid Rock - Medley

Pussycat Dolls, Timbaland, One Republic

Solange - I Decided

Over all I was pleased with the performances. Rihanna has actually never sounded better singing live. I only wished Willy Ninja was still around to give her a lesson on givin’ face. The other stand outs for me were JT’s “Give It Up” and The Black Eyed Peas.

I though Rihanna was simply beautiful. Beyonce shit on Etta James song, I mean she sounded great for being Beyonce but she didn’t deliver the magic of the song. But she did great with Justin. Kid Rock and Mary J just murdered it. They, to me, were the best act of the whole evening. Solange did the damn thing but I didn’t like the Beyonce channeled shimmy at the end at all. Chris Brown was amazing. I couldn’t keep my eyes off him; he just completely blessed the stage. Timbo’s mix and everyone involved was hot. Fergie and Blondie were also amazing. All in all it was a great show. Ten zillion times better than the VMA’s but that could also be due to the fact that they were singing real music. I loved it.

@TheJaun: I laughed when you said Rihanna and live together. Sarcasm? xD It was a obvious lip sych.

rihanna was lip singing so offcourse she neva sounded better

beyonce was good. but to ish on etta you need real sour not the artificial one. so don’t insult etta like that

i ennjoyed solange. she and the collective effort from jt bey kid rock and mary were the best to me

Rihanna was lip synching, but sounded a hell of alot better than I figured she would since we all know the girl can’t sing

Beyonce didn’t do “At Last” justice, but sang it well

JT should NEVER touch another Marvin song again! He sounded horrible! His duet with Bey was alright, though.

MJB and Kid Rock did well

Solo did the damn thing (I know ya’ll peeped Bey and Daddy Knowles beaming with pride while they watched her…too cute)

CB did his usual. Nothing special.

    Mimi’s performance was weak

And I could’ve done without the Timbo collab performance.

It looked like rihanna ass was lip singing throughout the whole damn performance. What 4 i have no idea she wasn’t even doing any fast dance moves.

I loved Beyonce’s Etta James performance, Justin killed it as he should have. Loved the Jt and Bey performance. I was alittle confused on the MJB Kid Rock performance

The best thing to me was Rhianna’s vogue! The performance vocally was mediocre but besides the vocals, she really earned rainbow more credits, lol.Beyonce vocally bought it- I would have like to have seen Sasha perform but thats probably coming up.JT did really good. Chris Brown, honestly again I think he’d make a better dancer than singer. MJB & Kid Rock bought some modern flavor to a old motown hit.MY FAVORITE ERA was indeed Motown, clean cut, reserved, & classy.

Rihanna is the shit. When she first came out… a LOT of people were talkin ishhh about how she CANT sing… or sing live. It’s very obvious she got vocal lessons since then, because she’s now consistently good. and its refreshing. =]

First of all Beyonce was great! Second…it is really hard for me to believe Rihanna really sung that, if she did…good job RiRi
