McCain Selects A Woman For VP!
August 29, 2008
While in Dayton, Ohio, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain introduced the world to his running mate while praising her for “skill” and “tenacity” - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. “She is exactly who this country needs to help us fight the same old Washington politics of me first and country second,” as John was quoted saying to supporters. This is what Sarah had to say.
“This is a matter when principles … matter more than the party line…It turns out the women of America aren’t finished yet and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all,” she said. MSNBC
This should be interesting. Thoughts?

Although not a republican, I have to say that this is a good strategy to sway those women voters who were for Hillary to his ticket. As there are still those women who will vote for her simply for the fact that she is a woman. Hopefully, the Obama party will do an excellent job with campaigning to woo those voters back to him and the democrats. All I can say is that this is going to be a very interesting election year.
jscorpths on August 29, 2008 at 1:38 pm #
i thought John was against women’s rights and all that. Why would he have a woman VP if he’s against women’s rights? Maybe i got the wrong information from somebody.
BklynGal on August 29, 2008 at 1:39 pm #
Palin as vice president just might push many other “conservatives” to vote for Obama-Biden (hopefully, we NEED Obama in the white house). This chick has a lot to prove in a very small amount of time.
BklynGal on August 29, 2008 at 1:41 pm #
BTW, I heard Palin is anti-gay rights and anti-abortion. This fight for the White House is gonna be something else.
supergirlie on August 29, 2008 at 1:42 pm #
He is against women’s rights, and she is prolife so the ticket is perfect, for the women republicans, and evangelical nut jobs and to suggest Clinton women will go for her is a damn insult, she has no where near the experience Hillary has had in politics. I think McCain simply picked this no-namer from Alaska to shake things up, but it didn’t shake things up in a good way. I still think with Obama continuing to get more and more mass appeal, they should get the white house! Not an old floppy 2 faced republican and a gun slangin soccer mom from Alaska PUH LEASE!
grafittix on August 29, 2008 at 2:24 pm #
And McCain says Obama doesn’t have enough political experience? This woman is a newborn compared to him. God forbid she have to assume the presidency.

This is making me laugh. What was he thinking?… I don’t know. Hilary is not about to let this lady steal her shine! I guess he’s trying to bring some drama, but… I’M NOT BUYING IT!!!!!
Rob on August 29, 2008 at 2:39 pm #
Actually Palin and Obama have about the same amount of politcal experience.

I don’t know about you all, but this should be a smack in the face of women, hell America period. It is clear what he is trying to do. She is nothing more than his hired hooker, OMG its so evident. There are other females who would been better. She is too vanilla and will just disappear into the background like McCain wants her to do.
You are telling me that if McCain is elected President and something happens to him that you want an ex-Governor of Alaska to run your country. Are you kidding? What does she know about everyday people. Alaska is another world all on its own. I know, I visited Alaska on a biology trip in college.

I’m glad he picked a woman.
BUT!!! I don’t want him to win, It’s time for change and McCain is the twin brother of Bush.
I don’t think woman are gonna flock to her she’s ‘pro Life’, conservative woman will love her but not dems.

This was out of desperation, and its very sad that he would try to stoop so low just to win. FOR EVERYONE THAT GOT IT TWISTED, she’s ANTI GAY AND ANTI ABORTION AS WELL AS LOOPED IN WITH THE OIL INDUSTRY. John is just using her to get Hillary people, but my question is…….DID YOU WANT HILLARY OR DID YOU WANT A WOMAN? Please remember John Mccain is 72 yrs old and has had cancer twice, if something were to happen to him would you want a INEXPERIENCED HOCKEY MOM, WITH A DEGREE IN JOURNALISM and ZERO FOREIGN POLICY EXPEREINCE, THAT IS GOV. OF A STATE THAT ONLY HAS 9000 PEOPLE IT, TO RUN YOUR COUNTRY?
NOT ME. OBAMA 08
Momo on August 29, 2008 at 5:59 pm #
I don’t think he’s serious. I think he’s gonna put on a good face and be a good little republican candidate, meanwhile praying to his conservative god everynight that Obama wins. He cannot be serious chosing this chic and being so transparent in his tactic. What did he do, line up a bunch of female politicians and play einy-meny-miny-mo?
thejuanstar on August 29, 2008 at 6:46 pm #
Anyone that has the audacity to compare this women’s experience to Barack Obama is ill informed and lacks the drive to be informed.
KelliQuik on August 29, 2008 at 8:31 pm #
To LB, Alaska has way more than 9000 people. I think you meant to say that she was the mayor of a town that had about 9,000 residents.
But you made some very good points.

Thanks for the correction, you are right. Sorry I was typing a lil too fast. To add to that she is also under investigation for having her brother in law fired due to a personal issue.

This is hilarious, McCain really thinks he is combating obama with this woman LAUGHABLE! No one thinks this is a good choice except for ultra conservative Christian republicans! Other than that, mainly male republicans are pissed, democrats are laughing, democrat women who voted hillary are insulted, and mainly everyone thinks McCain just threw in a Woman to pander a vote! What an old douche bag lol
lady of rage on August 30, 2008 at 8:23 am #
It appears that Sarah Palin made a comment during the primary campaign regarding Hillary Clinton. She stated “she felt kind of bad she couldn’t support a woman, but she didn’t like Clinton’s “whining.” I how the PUMA’s will react to that?

This woman is nothing more than a puppet for McCain to use to TRY to get Hilary’s voters on his side. Meanwhile he has totally isolated the people who would have voted for him. Why the hell do you think that the rich republican men of this country would want a woman VP? They are not that dang open minded. McCain just shot himself in the foot. And why would Hilary’s Voters pick someone who doesn’t have the same opinions as she did. I feel embarrassed and some what ashamed of her for standing behind a Man who is against women’s rights. She’s Trifflin’!! Hilary’s Voters should feel insulted that McCain thinks that they are that damn stupid especially after Hilary made it quite clear that Obama wants the same things that she wanted and that she wants her voters to be united with him….. Just a shame.
Nikki on August 30, 2008 at 6:30 pm #
McSame thinks he’s slick. I peep your game McSAME! Man Hilary supporters are wiser than this tactic. It makes me laugh because he picked her out of the blue like he was waiting in the tall grass for Obama to pick is VP and he went “HA you didn’t pick a woman so I’mma pick a woman! Hilary supporters come to papa!”
Hell to the no!
someone on September 1, 2008 at 1:04 am #
She will be nothing more than a pawn . He`s slick though , I`ve heard of a few fantical illogical hilary supporters who are going to vote for him / her . LOL what happened to his point that obama had no experience SMH . McCreep =)
