Mariah Carey’s New Las Vegas Deal?

There is buzz that Mariah Carey is in secret talks to become a permanent headliner at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, which could score her $100 million for a three-year commitment, an insider tells Star. “Mariah is one of the most popular performers around,” the insider adds. “She could easily become Queen of the Las Vegas strip!” And Mariah’s new husband, Nick Cannon, is all for the idea. “Nick loves Vegas,” the insider says. “Maybe he could even be Mariah’s opening act!”
Note: The contract offer, according to a Planet Hollywood source, would be for 5 nights a week for 3 years and worth $100 million. Mariah has not accepted and they are apparently still in negotiations. [MariahDaily]
All I know is that if this is true and Mariah will be in Las Vegas performing every night, I will be most definitely catching a flight at least once a month to hear my favorite diva belt out the hits!

The same rumor pops up every year. Mariah hates touring. For the new tour, she’s trying to make it shorter than the last one, which was less than 3 months.
I don’t think her voice can deal with it, though her voice goes in and out of shape (CB tour, Rainbow- Glitter).
I don’t think Vegas is too good for her voice, and she can’t even stay in NYC for longer than a week or 2 w/o going somewhere. And she’s talking about kids now, so no.

Mariah carey can’t handle when she is not touring, and doing a gig every once in a while. How is she going to stand up & sing every night?
Cher,Beyonce,Whitney Houston, Patti, Celine Dion..artist who’s voices or stage performances can deliver every night, can take that gig!

I this were to happen I would really like to see Mariah preform in Vegas. I don’t think she would do 5 night straight through, i think she would do once show one night and her voice the next night. If this is in the works I am all for it. Luv ya MIMI!!

I’m sure Mariah has a team of people who’s job is the maintanence and upkeep of her voice. From doctors and voice coaches, to the assistant who monitors the temperature on her tour bus. If she wants to do this, I’m certain she’ll be up to it.

I think its a brilliant idea! I watched her mimi tour dvd and loved it (apart from the lack of clothing) it was brilliant.
I would fly 3000 miles to see her in vegas, and Im sure millions of pepople would.
I think her voice sounds best when its well rested, so doing 5 nights a week would be a bit much. I think every legend/diva should do vegas, it makes more sense than releasing albums at like 50 years old.
