Video Performance: Scarlett Johansson

May 22, 2008

Jesus take the wheel! Save me from this trump foolery! Who gave this woman a record deal? Love muffins, if you decided not to view this video I applauded you. Scarlett Johansson performs her first single “Falling Down” from her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head. I think I need a drink - I need a shut yo mouth potion. Scarlett, darling, please stick with acting - you are wonderful at it.

ok I know I’m gonna get flack for this but when I first heard it I did not like it… But when you hear it a couple of times.. it strangely kinda gets in your head. well, it did that to me anyways. lol. So yeah, ugh I kinda like it. I guess I respect what she’s doing with this song and type of music.

umm theres nothing rong with this performance? you can see emotion in her while shes singing and passion. I dont see that in alot of other artists out there today. I thought the song was wack at first, but it is actually the performance that sold me. If you think this is bad but other lip syching performances are good, u got a problem. Music is supposed to be about emotion, the first type of music in the world must made like that. Thiss is REAL music, it might not be the BEST or make u pop ur booty but its deff from the heart.

I think that for the genre she’s going for, it’s actually a good song. If it were any other unknown artist, as opposed to a recognizable actress, I don’t think people would be as harsh on her. I personally would like to hear her sing something a little more sultry with that deep, almost raspy, voice…but hey, it’s her music.

I actually like the song. It’s a cover and is different and interesting.

She is a horrible singer. HORRIBLE. Anyone can be a singer nowadays? I guess as long as sex sells then who cares right? In her case, she’s already well known, and not bad looking. I agree with you B.Scott, she should just stick to acting.

Who told her she could sing? I could only listen to a few lines of the song before my ears started hurting. You are so right B.Scott, she needs to stick to acting.

I love it! She’s not trying to be a Beyonce (now if we wanna talk about can’t sing….), she’s perfect for the genre she’s in. Her voice actually has some character-not everyone is supposed to sound like a Mariah knock off-and you can feel what she’s singing. The whole idea of the CD she made was bold as hell and I respect her for not following the typical formula.
