Hillary and Obama Both Win!

May 21, 2008

Hillary Clinton won by a landslide in Kentucky and Barack Obama took Oregon as early exit polls suggested last night. Although Hillary continues to beat Obama in the swing states, Obama’s pledged delegate support is keeping him in the lead and the favorite to win the primary. With only two weeks and three contests remaining what should the Democratic Party do now? Should Hillary and Obama join forces or should Hillary bow out gracefully. Love Muffins, Please let me know! Thoughts?

    Hillary. Let. It. Go. Luvmuffin.

Hillary will NEVER give up! She is a fighter! She is in this for the long run! This country never gives up so why should she! I say they should join forces! Honestly, they both need one another more than they would like to admit!

    Clinton/Obama 2008!

  4. Minoxi on May 21, 2008 at 6:26 am #

I think they need to team up and have an Obama(P) Clinton (VP) ticket. I do admire Clinton’s intestinal fortitude to keep on fighting, but to some degree, I think that’s the same kind of stubborness Bush has displayed that has kept us in Iraq. Know when to say when Luvmuffin.

  5. Nope on May 21, 2008 at 6:52 am #

Alex, that would be OBAMA/Clinton 2008. Holla!

  6. purplekisses7528 on May 21, 2008 at 7:27 am #

Mrs. Clinton is doing nothing but splitting the Democratic vote, making it challenging for Obama to fight McCain. So if Clinton really wants to help the people of the United States, she will bow out gracefully and she her supporters to Obama. We need to get the republicans outta there by any means.

  7. Kissa on May 21, 2008 at 7:28 am #

We need an Obama/Clinton ticket already.

  8. iZeph on May 21, 2008 at 7:40 am #

She needs to let it go and let us rally around the Democratic candidate that’s going to UNIFY the masses - and that’s OBAMA, baby!

  9. mrsFAB on May 21, 2008 at 7:46 am #

Keep on fighting Hillary. Some of us are as loyal to you and your family for all that you have done for this country. Besides the fact that I really think that YOU can beat McCain. I don’t Obama can. Hillary/Obama ‘08!

  10. Alex on May 21, 2008 at 7:53 am #

Great Comment mrsFAB! You are soo right! THANK YOU!

  11. And..... on May 21, 2008 at 7:59 am #

Hillary needs to bounce! I don’t care if she has won the larger states, its her type of negative campaigning and underhanded tactics that are killing the US. She represents the old-guard. We need new and we need a CHANGE, like yesterday.

Absolutley not, there shouldn’t be a team-up. Clinton defies everything Obama’s campaign stands for–CHANGE. Plus it would be hypocritical for either one of them to take on the other as VP as they have both pointed out each others weaknesses and differences. It would be political suicide.

OBAMA for 2008. YES WE CAN!

  12. BOLD1 on May 21, 2008 at 9:43 am #

Minoxi you hit it right on the head… having sound judgment means knowing when to say when.. not stayin in indefinitely hoping and praying somethin may improve to the detriment of yourself and you country. That is what Bush has done for the past 5 years of this war, and is what Hillary is now doing to the Democratic party. For the sake of everyone, they both need to wake up. OBAMA 4 PREZ!

  13. hilltop on May 21, 2008 at 10:39 am #

She’s causing further division and that’s sad. Obama needs less than 70 delegates before he gets the nomination thank God!! Hopefully we will soon become a more unified party after he is declared the nominee. O and I honestly think that if the tables were turned, this race would have been over a long time ago. Everyone would be telling him to bow out and guess what, being the man that he is, he would gracefully.

  14. Keena on May 21, 2008 at 11:28 am #

I admire her fighting spirit but the fat lady started singing a long time ago. Also, please don’t be fooled into thinking she’s staying in the race for the American people. She’s still in it because she can’t believe she lost. Maybe if she would have run a classy campaign and not the smear tactic divisive campaign (that was more in line with the way Republicans do things)the Democratic party wouldn’t be as divided as it is. The truth of the matter there is no way that Obama should have beaten Hillary. None. Hillary’s ego did this to her. Come on, calling Obama’s run a “fairy tale” (actually Bill said this) but still, comparing Obama to Jesse Jackson, I mean she played the race card like it was going out of style. I just expected soooo much more from her. But it was that type of arrogance that turned everyone off. People want to say that she didn’t win because she’s a woman, I reject that idea. She didn’t win because she’s Hillary Clinton and her old school win at all costs tactics just didn’t go over well. If she cared about the American people not having a Republican president she’d bow out and try to get her supporters to back Obama. But something tells me she doesn’t have enough class for that.

I think a Obama\Clinton ticket would be a mistake. People just don’t like her, he also needs to have someone in there with some real experience under their belt (not the fake sniper fire kind). There are too many better candidates than Hillary Clinton. She can pat herself on the back for making it this far. Or, she could as my mother would say “go in the corner and think about what you did wrong” LOL

  15. Tigerlily on May 21, 2008 at 1:10 pm #

Really Keena? Smear tactics, let’s not talk about Obama and how he and Edwards started the offense against Hillary & Co. (and still continue to do so), but I forgot, it’s ok for a man to be aggresive but not woman. I don’t understand how people can say she is splitting the Democratic Party, just because she won’t roll over and QUIT! That would be a true disgrace, not only as a democrat but as a woman! What kind of message would that send.
If Obama won the race, most of Hillary’s supporters would vote for him. If Clinton won, how many of you could say you woul d vote in the Presidential elction for her? Thanks, thought so, now tell me whose the one splitting up the party.

Just because she has more than one occasion proved her fortitude and intellectual dominance through “Aggressive” campaigning doesn’t make her a bad person, it makes her a POLITICIAN…you know like that anti-Christ (I mean) Obama fellow the masses are so blindly following. I tell ya, tickle people’s ears and give them no relative information and they will just fall in-line.

Hillary, you go girl! Stay in it and win it! Why? Cause either way you made history my dear!

  16. Keena on May 21, 2008 at 1:38 pm #

No Tigerlilly, Obama responded to the attacks from Clinton. He’s run a clean campaign, that’s been his whole MO, he wants change in WA. I think you’re missing some info there, he was on the offense there. I don’t have a problem with Hillary being aggressive, that’s the ONLY thing I actually respect about her. I’ve followed this election process very closely and if you take your emotions out of it, you would see that it’s always been Hillary dishing it out from day one. But I digress, I see no need to argue this because his clean campaigning speaks for itself. Just like her dirty campaigning spoke for itself. If you notice, I never broke it down between man vs. woman, you did that. What I will say is that it’s surprising that in a race between a man and a woman it turned out to be the man who rose above the dirty campaigning while the woman played in the dirt like a 2 year old.

Her aggressive campaigning (as you call it), is what lost her this election. If it was a man doing the things she did would you be defending it as just politics or would you call it what it is. Why is this style of politics all of a sudden ok, just because it’s being used by a woman. Crap is crap no matter who it comes from.

I think it’s pretty harsh to call Obama the anti christ (I blame that on you being emotional). You’re probably reeling just like your girl Hillary who is somewhere crying about this campaign (like she did earlier, I mean come on, the first woman to make it this far crying on the campaign trail, that joke writes itself). She has definitely not done anything for the next woman who runs for office. If anything she’s made it worse. Support her if you like, but make sure you take a good look at her and take off those rose colored glasses.

While I voted for Obama I’m not his biggest fan. Between the two of them he’s just the lesser evil. What I am against is Ms. Clinton, what she stands for, her lies, her manipulation and otherwise trickery. I mean to throw Rev. Wright in Obama’s face as much as she did, when she and Bill used him for “spiritual guidance” after Bill cheater on her with Monica Lewinsky is the perfect example of her being a fraud. I’m still waiting for her to give some examples of this 35 years of experience she’s claiming. So far, she hasn’t been able to say anything other than her 1st lady duties and time in the Senate. BTW, that’s why she “misspoke” in the first place. Trying to make up experience.

Anyway, as for your comment about Obama supporters not supporting Hillary. I suggest you check out CNN. There are Clinton supporters that are trying to get everyone to vote for McCain now that everyone (except Hillary) realizes she’s lost this thing. It’s like Barack said when he spoke to the 75,000 people in Oregon the other day. His supporters need to play nice to the Clinton supporters. In the spirit of that, I’ll stop here.

    Yes We Can!!

You beta WORK Ms. Keena.. You broke it down for Ms. Tigerlilly.

    fierce read…

  19. minamony on May 21, 2008 at 7:49 pm #

SCREECH……AW HELL TO THE NO MS. KEENA!

Usually I do not address the “ignorant ones” that ty to use personal attacks against Hillary…mentioning Moinca Lewinsky grow the eff up. That is a personal, family issue that has notHing to do with her political skills. I love how all these moral, Obama supporters preach a unified nation yet they sit back and name call Hillary supporters. PLEASE STOP the madness. You can not win without Hillary supporters let’s get that straight first OK. If you could then he should have locked up this vote long ago!

Clinton didn’t have to throw Rev. Wright in Clinton’s face because he was all up in it himself. Obama should have handled that situation from the giddy up. He didn’t want to own up that Rev. Wright’s comments were inappropriate. So what does he do he holds a national press conference and gives a speech on race. Then weeks later he disowns the man. Come on that was just weak. Man up and admit that what the guy did was wrong. the things he said were outrageous but apparently Mr. Clean never heard these comments OH PLEASE!!!

As for his spiritual guidance after Bill cheated I guess you have a point there NOT!!!! Because they didn’t know the man for damn near 20 years. Obama knew this guy and knew him well!! He knew the man was was a bad seed because he initially asked him to speak when he announced he was running for president. Then he revoked the invitation because his people told him it would not look good. Now you want to act shocked about some of things he has said on record? WILONA please!

Your comment on Hillary “crying” is exactly why YOU are a shame to all women. I know that my job is tough and there have been real moments of weakness for me even if I multiplied that by a million it still wouldn’t compare to running for president. Crying does not make you weak and if you think it does then there are a hell of a lot of weak people out there. You stand in front of a corwd and have a man screaming “Iron my Shirt” at you then tell me how you would feel. Your argument that she has made it worse for women in the future is so idiotic it warrants no response.

When you look at the real numbers in regards to this election you will see that there are not even 600,000 votes separating them with over 30 million people having voted. That is not a clear win to me. Obama is scraping by BARELY!! You mention dirty politics but make no mention of actual instances. I give you the sniper lie but that was not against Obama and in fact it hurt her more than anything. It is not dirty politics to point out the fact that your OPPONENT is weak, inexperienced and so not ready for OFFICE! This is a contest and a race and it is your job to point out why you think you are the right person for the job and in the real world that may mean having to point out your opponents weaknesses.

Obama is lucky he is “conveniently” black becaue that has apparently guaranteed him (I believe the estimates are 92%) of the black vote….oooh lucky. Unfortunately, I believe many of those people are voting for him based on color. No Maam, color does not guide my choice.

Let me make it very clear for you there are over 16,000,000 people that have stood up and made their voice known and we don’t want her to quit just because the media says so. When Obama wins the number of delegates with all votes counted (MI and FL) then and only then should she concede. She shouldn’t just give him the nomination work for that shit!

UNIFIED PARTY (YOU ARE A STRAIGHT COMEDIAN!!!) all of a sudden you want Hill supporters on your side after the disgraceful things you have all said over the last year. I know BS when I smell it so no thanks I have no desire to play nice with phonies. So in the spirit of keeping it real “YOU CAN PUT THAT WHERE…BACK THERE!!!”

  20. Tia on May 21, 2008 at 9:46 pm #

Voting for Obama because he is black is a good enough reason but its not the only reason. Both canidates primarily offer the same things but it comes down to personality. Hillary is a tight faced old hag and she just rubs me the wrong way. She plays dirty and her supporters know it! No one likes DIRT! As far as Rev Wright, who gives a crap, my minister says some things that I dont agree with but have you ever agreed with everything someone says? Obama does not have any control over what that man has said! Yeah its his fault this man voiced his opinion and Obama told him to do it! Get tha hell out of here! The democratic party needs 2 come together sooner than later, And as for crying please do it behind closed doors. I want to think that a canidate for president could hold her emotions in! It does not show weakness but can u say awkward?

And if Hilliarys did lose and her voters went for Mc Cain how could they be true democrats?

  21. keonta on May 22, 2008 at 2:45 am #

i think they should stand together and kick the republicians ass..keena girl..you better work it

  22. minamony on May 22, 2008 at 3:18 am #

    Tia:

OH dear you have already broken the 4 cardinal sins of a truly misinformed person. Let em break them down for you:

    1. Ignorance- Voting based on a skin color is not enough reason to vote for anyone. Although I am sure white people have in the past and continue to do so. But just because white people do it doesn’t make i right.

    2. Name calling- ah the sign of a true Obama supporter. It is like a breath of fresh air when you call her a tight old hag.” It is then I know that your ignorance and disdain are just YOUR true character…if that’s what you can call it.

    3. Lack of comprehension- I never said Obama was to blame for Rev. Wright. The point was to disown the comments from the giddy up rather than tryign to make a fake ass speech on race and supporting the man who is like “family”. The weeks later say I don’t know him at all. It’s not hard. Obama was scared what effect it would have if he denounced him immediately especially with “blacks”. Then he ends up denouncing the dude because frankly he is crazy. To me that shows the inability to make a stand on an issue.

    4. ASSumptions- now this one is all about you Tia. Did I ever say I would vote for McCain? Didi I say Hill supporters would vote for Mccain. NO! I plan on voting for Hillary because luckily I have that option. Obama does not represent me or 16,000,000 other people I know. SOme ma vote for him, others will vote against McCain rather than for Obama and sadly some will choose not to vote at all. This is all thanks to the deplorable remarks from people like you.

All of a sudden you want to unify after months of having people calling your candidate every name under the sun…PUHLEASE!!

  23. Tia on May 22, 2008 at 5:42 am #

No Boo Boo I have wanted the Democrats to unite from jumpstreet, after all we do no need 4 or 8 more years of a republican in the office. A true democrat wants one in the office because they are more for the people! Also Obama can denounce that man if he wants to because he was bringing him bad press and who knows what condition their relationship was in before this happened.(Another Assumption) I will never be misinformed in any way honey because I have followed the news from day one. And I know you do not like every person you have met and have stated your opinion about them. I have et Hilliary and I stated my opinion of her and if would be the same if she was not running for president.
And can you say Biased because I have heard plenty of Hillary supporters say they are voting for her because she is a woman and because she is white and mind you I live in Kentucky. So its a shame that people are voting for Obama because he is white but ts ok to vote for her because she is a woman, get REAL.Either way this election will make history and I am still BaROCKING my VOTE!
    * Also because he is black is a good reason because it will change history, like voting for her because she is a woman will change history! Mind you I said that was not the only reason I was voting for him and I didnt even say it was high on my list. So who is judging someones character?

  24. Tia on May 22, 2008 at 5:43 am #

Ooh child I was typing so fast this has all kinds of errors but u know what I mean.

  25. Nick on May 22, 2008 at 6:19 am #

Minamony both you and Hillary are just making yourrself look PATHETIC. It’s no wonder there is a large percentage of the electorate that sees her as untrustworthy, and this cheap political theater is doing nothing to curb that sentiment. Every candidate signed the same pledge, yet she must have decided that she signed it with her fingers crossed, so it doesn’t count. ( RE. FL+MI)

She and her jusband were nowhere to be seen while the 2000 Florida recount was going on and she was positively mute while voters in Ohio were disenfranchised in 2004. All of a sudden she is the champion of those being disenfranchised? I don’t think so.

Hillary took a shot and lost. She thought she would have this thing in the bag after Super Tuesday and her candidacy was inevitable. This was hubris clear and simple.
NEWS FLASH TO HILLIARY SUPPORTERS AND
Hillary, you’re not the choice of the majority of pledged delegates, super delegates or have the most popular voters. Your husband’s and your job now as “elder statesmen” are to unify the party around the candidate - Senator Obama.

  26. minamony on May 22, 2008 at 6:42 am #

I find it very hard to believe that you met Hillary and stted your opinion of her. So you called her a hag to her face? Doubtful, very doubtful but if you say so!

Once again Ma’am let me clarify. I don’t care what white people do because they are not a representation of me. But, seeing people of color supporting someone solely based on clor is a HUGE issue for me. Maybe not for you but it is to me. Please don’t make me post the links to videos of these people because it is really TOO embarassing!!!

I am well informed about this just as much if not more than you. I have campaigned, I am well read and I know the policies and ideas my candidate supports. Perhaps, I am more of an independent. I vowed I would never vote again for someone I don’t completely support especially after the kerry/edwards debacle.

You are right I don’t like every person I meet but I do not call them “hags” or “bitches” based on not liking them. Unless they have said the same to me at which point I will put someone in their place and quick.

As for your tag team partner Nick who calls me pathetic. I have encountered him before on b.scott and his posts have been deleted because of his ignorant remarks in the past. So he get’s no response.

I am all about being civil because I respect people’s choice but people need to respect mine in return. That is why we have the right to vote in the first place. Don’t expect me to vote for someone I don’t (and need I stress again over 16,000,000) support.

Let’s agree to diagree over our choice of candidates and let that be. I wish you luck in November!

  27. And..... on May 22, 2008 at 7:04 am #

And let me add this. The ONLY reason why Clinton is hanging on at this point is because her campaign is broke! She knows she cannot win at this point. She’s not “fighting for the American people”. She’s “fighting” to pay off a $20 million debt. Her rallies are nothing more than a way for her to rally up peoples money.

  28. Tia on May 22, 2008 at 7:11 am #

I met Hilliary when she in Kentucky and no I did not care for her because she does come across as a tight faced hag, just like I could say u come across as judgmental and you could say the same about me. I stated my opinion about her as in the first comment I left in this blog! As for people of color voting for him because he is black that is thier opinion as long as I know why I am voting for him, I a straight. As for me being black comes before being a woman because that is what people see when they first meet me, being black has given me plenty of disadvantages and a few advantages, so if I want to vote for the first black president then so be it but please lets just drop the race issue because some cant handle it

  29. Bekah on May 22, 2008 at 9:27 am #

I suggest everyone read Robert Creamer’s 5/12 article “Top 10 Reasons Obama Defeated Clinton for the Democratic Nomination” on The Huffington Post. Summarized:

    10. Obama’s Great Team
    9. All-State Strategy
    8. Hillary Had No Plan B
    7. Excellence in Execution: Great Field
    6. Explosive Obama Fundraising
    5. Obama Out-Communicated Clinton Using One Consistent Message
    4. Hope and Inspiration Trumped Fear and Anger
    3. Unity Trumped Division
    2. Change Trumped Experience
    1. Obama is an Extraordinary Candidate

    ‘Nuff said…

  30. princessoftheworld on May 23, 2008 at 1:15 pm #

I wish it could be….but Hillary just told the editorial board today that she’s not getting out of the race because her husband had to stay until August to win the nomination and remember RFK was assasinated in June after he won the California Primary….these are her reasons for staying in the race. Thoughts???? And you wonder why folks don’t want her to be President, Vice President, dog catcher , etc….
