Foxy Brown - Brooklyn’s Don Diva
May 7, 2008
Do you remember hits like “I’ll Be” featuring Jay Z and “Touch Me, Tease Me” with Case and Mary J. Blige? Well now that Foxy Brown is released from prison, her album Brooklyn’s Don Diva has leaked before the release date of May 13, 2008. So if you are a huge fan of Foxy, the wait is over. I am not one to call myself a Foxy Brown fan, so I passed up on the opportunity to listen to it - let me know what your thoughts are on the album.

I have been waiting for new music from Foxy for some time now. I loved Broken Silence and feel as though she fills the void for female rappers. This is being marketed as a “underground,Mixtape” type album. That is the reason why there isn’t a video. THis is clearly about lyrics and delivery. This album is much harder than La Bella Mafia-Lil Kim or the never released album of Eve. I think this album is sick and can’t wait for the release

i was trying to remember the name of that cover so bad. it is just like the lil kim album cover. even if it is better lyrics wise, you’re still following and copying — get your own style. if you’re hot, youre hot, so show that.

That is not the right album cover!! The correct one has Foxy hoppin out of a bently.. it’s very sexy!! I listened to the mixtape and it’s great!! B.Scott do give it a listen,
The standout tracks are:
Lights Go Out
Star Cry
Never Heard This Before Featuring Dwele
BulletProof Love Featuring Lil Mo
She Wanna Rude Bwoy Featuring Demarco
Brooklyns Don Diva Rumors Of Foxy
.. I love those songs.. the rest of the album is good. Foxy is one of the most lyrical female rappers and she has hits in the bag.. wish there was a video but I guess she’s waitin to do that with another album.

This album was good, for the most part, but her label f*cked it up and her manager took advantage of the situation- causing repeated songs to be on the album with different beats, and songs from 2003 on the album. Basically, there are only 9 original songs on the album, the rest are repeat and two from 2003. Overall it’s cool, though. The best track if the title track, followed by “Never Heard This Before.” Two songs got left off the album, but maybe it’ll make the next one.
Oh, and this wasn’t AN ALBUM per say- it was a street album, which is basically a mixtape that is made available in stores.
