Love muffins, Trey sent me a video of a group of talented men called AHMIR singing Mariah Carey’s version of her new single “Bye Bye”. Can I just tell you that they brought me to tears, B. Scott broke down yall! Only pinkberry was able to bring me back to my senses. Their debut album, The Gift, is available in stores now. I have to agree by saying it sounds so much better/more emotional without a beat, slowed down and sung by them. I love the background vocals & ad libs. Really beautiful song, the only thing is I wish she would stuck to grammatically correct english, it takes a little away from the song for me.

This is a great version and I LOVE how they put in the “One Sweet Day” chorus toward the end!! Just goes to show how Mariah still has the ability to touch her fans on an emotional level.

If I’m not mistaken, this is the group that models themselves after my favorite, Boyz II Men. I believe they opened for the Boyz on tour and have several vids on You Tube.
I love how they prefaced the song. You can hear the Boyz II Men influence in their vocal arrangement & vocal inflections.
