Chilli, from the legendary girl group TLC, is back on the scene with her super smash single - “Dumb Dumb Dumb.” Dumb Dumb Dumb is the first single off Chilli’s solo album, tentatively entitled “Bipolar” which will be released this year. Chilli (Rozanda Thomas) has been in the music industry for many years, starting out as a dancer and then moving on to become the “C” and the “Sexy” in TLC. I’m very confident that she needs no introductions because who doesn’t know the many songs that rocked our worlds when we were coming up like: “Creep,” “Baby Baby Baby” and “Waterfalls.” And who didn’t get their cry on the first time they saw the video for “Unpretty” or start calling any man that didn’t step to them correct a scrub after the smash hit - “No Scrubs.” And even if you didn’t know what a ’scrub’ was when you first heard of the song - Chilli was sure to let you know with a body roll and in b-boy stance in the video that “a scrub is a guy that thinks he’s fly and is also known as a buster.” And we thanked her for educating us on the topic of scrubs. Her part in this dynamic trio changed pop culture forever. And now she’s back… still as gorgeous and youthful as she was the first time we saw her in “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”,TLC’s debut single, back in 1992.
Now as a solo artist - Chilli is still in love with making music and is about the business of making us fall in love with her all over again by releasing this great dance track and giving her fans the chance to be apart of her return to the scenes. The “Dumb Dumb Dumb” dance contest is a contest that Chilli came up with to encourage aspiring dancers to get involved by submitting a video of themself dancing to the track. She specifically wants her fans to come up with a signature dance routine that will be called the “Dumb Dumb Dumb,” and if selected - that lucky dancer will get the chance to take credit for creating the new dance craze - the “Dumb Dumb Dumb” and will have the opportunity to dance with Chilli live on stage. I was super duper excited when I recently got the chance to talk to Chilli over the phone about what’s been going on with her these past couple of years that she’s been off the scene. If you’ll remember - the last time we really heard from Chilli was when her and fellow TLC member “TBoz” had their UPN television show “R U The Girl” where they were searching for a third member to perform with them in concert.
