Hillary Clinton Wins Pennsylvania!
April 23, 2008
With about 98 percent of precincts reporting, Sen. Hillary Clinton has claimed victory in Pennsylvania on Tuesday by 10 points, beating out Sen. Barack Obama after a rumble-in-the-jungle seven-week campaign. Neither candidate is expected to win the 2,025 delegates needed to clinch the nomination by the end of the primary season in June, thoughts?

It’s amazing because if Barack wasn’t running, for me, this would be a no brainer. After hearing the issues and making an educated decision I decided to Barack the Vote! I like Hilary, and a part of me wished they would have ran in different terms but I do believe that it was meant to be. Because of the current state of the country I think things would be very different if the Bush administration was actually successful. PEOPLE WANT AND NEED CHANGE! I just hope that whoever wins is able to handle the mess that is being handed over. I wish Hilary luck but, as of now, I’m going with Barack. He can win this. I tell you this though, if Hilary wins the nomination I WILL vote for her.
We all have different views and place importance in different areas. What is the most important thing out of all this is to get the message across to make educated decisions based on how you feel about the issues. Not because one is black or one is a woman. Most importantly VOTE! Be heard!
Sorry so long…
1) This is no longer a numbers game. I’ve been saying all along that even though Obama is leading slightly, he is NOT leading by enough to completely discount Hillary. Her trouncing him in such an important state only further makes that case.
2) It also proves that Hillary has a MUCH better chance with the moderate, blue-collar vote than Obama ever well. That has consistently been her demographic, and that’s important. She’s showing that she has sway over demographics that WOULD vote for McCain otherwise. Obama has NOT made the case that he can steal swing voters away from McCain. Hillary has.
Overall this was a very big night for Hillary. It kept her in the race and proved a major argument for her going into the Convention: that when it comes to those moderate, middle-class voters, SHE has a much larger pull with them than Obama does. Super delegates are NOT going to be able to ignore that.
Not to mention her victory speech was nothing short of inspiring.
” This is no longer a numbers game”…. LOL
Thanks for the laugh Brandon33..
I’m so proud of her. Say what you want about her, but there is no denying that this woman is a fighter. She’s not going to give up anytime soon. The Super delegates should take notice. The kool-aid drinkers should take notice. This woman should be our president. This election shouldn’t be about race or gender. She simply has what it takes to run this country. I’ve never know anyone to fight so hard and come back so many times. She deserves this nomination.
Congrats to Hillary! Obama outspent her 3 to 1 in PA and she still came out with a victory! also Loved her speech…it brought me to tears.
and to the above comment
It is’nt about the numbers anymore, neither one will have enough delegates to win the nomination in August. The Superdelegates are going to have to decide this thing. This is the process the DNC created and now they will have to deal with it!
Not about numbers??!! HAHAHAHA
Hillary, you’ve gained about 9 more delegates!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
OBAMA ‘08
This is turning out to be the most juiciest election of all time. I can’t hate on Hillary, gotta give respect when it’s due. Congrats. gOBAMA ‘08
*in my best “Martin” voice> DAMN, DAMN, DAAMMNNN!!
I am tired of this race. I just want it to be over. It’s like a basketball game in quadruple overtime with 1 second left and the score is tied. It’s getting on my nerves and the negativity drives me crazy. I can’t wait for it to end.
I am SOO happy for Mrs. Clinton! She is a strong woman, a fighter, and I admire that. “Stop the hate, Hillary 08!”
Being an Obama supporter, of course I’m not thrilled that Hillary won in PA. I’m not the one to “throw mud” and talk negatively about Hillary, for that is immature and shows a lack of class. With that being said, I do amired her resiliency and her determination.
Unfortunately, it’s not enough to win me over
Wow i guess playing dirty does pay off.
theMan,
exactly!!
I have to give credit to Clinton for STAYING in the race BUT the ONLY reason she won is because Obama called the people bitter. Clinton used that to her advantage. I used to be a Clinton supporter. Now, it seems isn’t sticking to the issues. Every speech she has something negative to say about Obama. If it’s HER speech she needs to concentrate on what SHE will do if she is President instead of what Obama Can’t do. Yes she has experience, but her experience will not change anything about how the presidents before her handled things. She will be doing the SAME thing. Obama, on the other hand, will CHANGE things. He is one of the few people in politics that’s actually Honest. As a young voter, I want someone in office that I can trust to protect our freedom and bring the economy back to where it needs to be. To also, improve education, and social security. The health care crisis is ridiculous, as is housing. Don’t expect the next president to jump right into the things we want to happen, because unfortunately the next president has to clean up this mess Bush has gotten us into. Although, I slightly agree with what Whoopi said on the View that McCain should win. Why? Because a Republican got us in this mess, and a Republican should clean it up. But then as Joy said, it might just make things worse.
Yes, Clinton is staying in the race, but it is the way she is handling herself that makes me NOT want to vote for her. Obama is sticking to the issues. He is tired of the mudslinging; he wants to concentrate on the issues. Can Clinton say the same thing? NO!
Just my opinion!
Go Hil, Go Hil, Go Hil.
I have to disagree that Obama is the one of the few honest politicians. In my opinion, if Obama were so honest, he would have had a reasonable answer for every question thrown at him last week during that ABC debate. The fact that he wouldn’t answer those questions tells me that he had something to hide. The fact that he whined about the debate and refuses to debate again also sends up a red flag. Those questions are fair and valid. I don’t care if they don’t focus on the issues. Don’t kid yourself. These primaries have not been decided based on the issues. This is a biggest popularity contest ever and if Clinton were the media’s golden child, Obama would take every opportunity to they could to question her character. They’re doing that anyways. I’m sick of people complaining about Clinton’s negative tactics. This is an election. It’s not a cake walk. Hillary Clinton is doing exactly what she needs to do. She isn’t the only one being negative. She wasn’t even the first to draw blood. The first blood came Obama’s Camp, Michelle Obama to be exact. Seriously, I think some of us need really think over the mess that’s thrown at by the Media and think for ourselves for a change. Another thing, Clinton is no way the blame for the latest controversy surrounding Obama. Obama is the blame. Those bitter statements came directly from his mouth. Even if there is some truth to that he said, you don’t insult someone’s faith. What made his comment elitist was the fact that he wasn’t speaking to a room of full of poor people. He was at a fund raiser with millionaires and he thought he was behind closed door. If you ask me, that was rather careless of him. Don’t get mad because Hillary Clinton took advantage of that. That was his fault.
All I have to say is she rocked it! She knows her PA people and she spoke directly too them and they hear her loud and clear…but so did more than a few supporters for Obama who spent all that money and broke the lead down from 25 pts to 10…So big ups to both of them. At this point either one will be great for the country…but! and that’s a big but…Obama will be sooooo much better.
Right about now I’m clinging to my faith because i have no gas to get to work! and no gun to rob a bank! (just kidding) don’t want the FBI at my door….fumes damn!
OBAMA ‘08
YES WE CAN
After weeks of campaigning in the city and suburbs of Philadelphia for Senator Obama, I was of course disappointed in the results. I have to respectfully disagree with Crystal’s point about the debate. There was not one policy question until :52 minutes in the debate. After weeks of the Rev Wright media blitz, I doubt that we needed to retread this once more. (I urge everyone to youTube the sermons that have been chipped to a sound bite.). For the life of me, I also do not understand why George Stephanopoulos was one of the moderators of the debate. This should have been an instant flag for the network because of the close personal and professional relationship that he has with the Clintons. I will leave the lapel pin alone. I think it’s absolutely crazy to discuss why this question was posed to one person, when BOTH do not wear the pin.
In the end, Senator Clinton deserves to be congratulated on her win. But one thing has solidified for me during the race. The tone of her campaign and her supporters has moved me to absolute hatred. I will vote for John McCain over Hillary Clinton.
@ thejuanstar
I agree with everything you’ve said.
