U.K. Sensation Leona Lewis drops her first American album today in the U.S. of A. LoveBScott.com is a positive site. I love for my viewers to be able to form their own opinions and I promote positive thoughts and kind words (or I try to at least) in everything that I do. So with that said… I have no review for this album because MamaBScott taught me that if you don’t have anything nice to say - “then shut your mouth little boy!” So my lips are sealed… and I mean - don’t get me wrong… it’s not even that I hate it - it’s just that its not necessarily my cup of tea. That’s all… Spirit is In Stores Today!

Leona’s beautiful, talented and a great singer. She won’t probably appeal to a lot of people because she isn’t showing her boobs or her ass to sell records.
I love her!
And by the way Bscott i don’t think you should be supporting piracy. It’s wrong to download music for free from the internet. Mariah won’t be happy with you.

I’m sorry, I just dont find anything particularly spectacular about this girl. She sings good technically but I do not feel any emotion from her songs and I just don’t see what the hype is about. She is lucky to have Simon Cowell as a manager because he promotes her well.

She has a pretty voice, however; she did not sing that song nearly as good as Ms. Whitney Houston.

i’m sorry, but i don’t get it. i’m not the hugest mariah fan, but it’s obvious that they are trying to model her after mariah. even look at the album cover. CLEARLY a rip off from mariah’s first one. the even did her hair the same way instead of keeping it curly like it is in the video.

not saying that she can’t sing. she’s just boring.

i love her so so much! I have the album on replay for ages … i don’t think she’s the next anything.. she is Leona Lewis, she is one of the few singers these days that do an amazing job live. And on top of that she is so humble and sweet like you can see on the video. She is just perfect : ) she deserves all the fame and fortune there is out there

I love this girl. not only is she absolutely gorgeous, she’s humble and TALENTED. Her single gives me chills and don’t take my word for it or even the radio’s/cd’s word for it - listen to her LIVE. We all know that’s the real test and she sounds better live than on cd in my opinion. I’ve heard people say Mariah can’t sing live which I don’t necessarily agree with but I must say even she is no Leona when it comes to a live performance and that’s the truth. I’ve sampled the album and can’t wait to pick it up this week. This girl is a STAR.

I felt the same way about her album at first, but it truely grew on me! I can’t stop playing it! Leona is very refreshing; Lord knows I’m tired of the crud they play on the radio. I will agree with others and say she’s not the next Mariah. As far as I’m concerned, the only thing these two share is them being biracial. Not taking anything away from Leona or Mariah, I just don’t see the comparisons. AT ALL!

Anyways, she’s a shy girl and her album was very ballady (lol), so I think people are writing her off as boring. Her performances are getting better and she seems to be coming out of her shell a little bit. Hopefully we’ll see more of her!

This is my first time listening to this girl and she doesn’t impress me she sounds like one of those people who are a copy-cat and her voice on that video is not all that good and whenever i see that video she has there is no expression on her face she just looks bored(thats why i change the channel)
Honestly she needs to have a personality and maybe she can win some more people over but other than that shes bland and wont really last long to me interns of remaining relevant.(and i don’t like the broads who show everything they have)

i’m not that into her but her song is infectious, her voice is great too and simon cowell is behind her, so her second cd she will find a voice of her own, get her sound and nitch and do her, good look for a REAL talent too

This is my first time ever posting here and the only reason i am doing it is because I dont understand how you can love Ashanti’s new song and E=MC2 but not Leona Lewis’s Spirit LP. You guys are nuts this girl is doing the scale from A-Z on almost every track. I think some of you are just haters WOW! She’s beautiful has a great voice and she dosen’t have to be damn near naked to get attention. Americans are so interesting.

Leona is the next best thing that can ever happen to pop music in the past 10 to 20 years YOU CANT COMPARE HER TO MARIAH b/c shes not mariah there not even in the same genre. Leona has a wonderful voice thats her ITS HER VOICE and you all may not love her but thats the same thing they sed bout “MiMi” back in 1990 hell she sign with Clive Davis before she won x factor and if he loves her nuff sed yah dont me shit

I listened to the album Monday on AOL First Listen. There were about 3 songs that were catchy, including “Bleeding Love”, which is ok. I’m not sure 3 or 4 good songs is going to cut it in this current shaky music industry. I’m not going to rule her out yet. The comparisons to Mariah are inevitable, particulary b/c she sang several Mariah songs on the X-Factor videos that are loaded on You Tube.

I’m sorry to you of course B. Scott and the many of his fans supporting his theory but IN NO WAY is Leona Lewis trying to protege or model her career after Mariah Carey even though she did mention that she was very influential in her upcoming. She is a VERY, VERY, VERY talented person with a SPLENDIFEROUS voice that demands superiority in the music biz that is today! If you haters or rather ‘you pessimists’ would give the girl a chance and recognize her vocal BRILLIANCE then maybe you can stop comparing her to singers who sound like whining kittens on crack and YES I AM REFERRING TO MS. MARIAH CAREY!

You cannot compare Leona Lewis to Mariah, you just can’t. Leona Lewis CAN hit those notes, but her songs have a deeper meaning and represent her as a person! All her songs in her album, she said herself, either happened to her or to someone close to her…she obviously put in a lot of thought into her album! Though the same cannot be said about Mariah whose every song sounds like SHE herself is trying to FIT IN to the music industry..and just does NOT sound original! And i’m sorry to say, but Mariah does NOT sound good live…if you don’t believe me, look at her performance on American Idol and then go see Leona Lewis on American Idol…compare the two and you will no doubt see that Leona Lewis is PURE talent! I listen to her album (which I bought on the release day!) everyday and I can honestly say that she is the most talented singer I have ever heard, she is amazing and if you just give her the time of day and LISTEN to her album and see some of her videos you’d agree!
