The movie chronicles Johnny Cash’s life, briefly touching on his childhood, including the tragic death of his brother, through his time in the Air Force in Germany, and then to his rise to fame, starting at Sun Records in Memphis, falling in love with June, to just before his marriage to her.

Pros

*Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon shine in the title roles.
*All songs are performed by the actors themselves.
*Country star: Shooter Jennings plays his father Waylon.
*Country star: Shelby Lynn plays Carrie Cash, Johnny’s mother.

Cons

*None at all.

And… this movie has one of my favorite movie lines of all times: “All my life, I just been tryin’ ta matter…” Yes! I loved Reese in this movie… so Love Muffins - GET INTO THIS!

    This movie was just ok to me, not good enough to own though.

    I loved this movie. Hubby sat through it thinking WTF, but I loved it. Johnny was a deep guy and he never gave up on his woman.
