“Stop The Hate In ‘o8″
March 25, 2008
Please allow me take this time to say that my most recent video is not at all a negative shot at Angel and Concreteloop.com - but the message is really just me pouring out my heart about how necessary it is for us to Stop The Hate In 2008!
People seem to want to SAVEBSCOTT. Let’s be clear about one thing Love Muffins! I love the Lord - he heard my cry and pitied every groan - long as I live and trouble rise I’ll hasten to his throne.
A major factor in HATE is ignorance. You know? Really get this and understand that “people perish for lack of knowledge.” And yes - I have to go there. All the way there. How dare people call themselves lovers of God, claim to “know” him and have a relationship with him but only spew words of anger and intolerance? This is not the way to get your point across. I am me. I am B.Scott and that’s all I know how to be. I believe that God made me the way that I am. But even if you disagree and you believe that I am damned to hell… hating me and being evil and ugly and angry is not the way to win me over or “save me from my sin.” The Bible even says that - You hate the sin - Not the sinner. And I’m not saying that I in any way believe that my lifestyle is a sin - I’m just saying - the methods have to be different. What about compassion? What about practicing the true ideas of Christ? What about loving your neighbor as you love yourself? What about “he without sin cast the first stone?” What about the fact that Christ says that even in our righteousness we (in our flesh) are all filthy rags? I could go on and on… but the point is - HATE is not, has never been, and is never ever going to be the way to bring change.
Come on people. We have to learn to love one another. We have to learn to foster change in our communities. We have to learn that whatever you say - is what you will have. So when has calling someone an ugly name - ever brought forth something beautiful? If you keep on sowing ignorance and intolerance and hate - you will get the same in return. All I can do is pray that people will one day really realize that you have to have your own personal relationship - you can’t get to heaven for B.Scott - and B.Scott surely can’t get to heaven for you… Now I’m not challenging anyone to a “Who Can Quote The Most Scripture Contest” however I am offering to you a different approach to this thing. If Love Can Conquer A Multitude of Things… Why don’t we try that out and see how that works in our favor rather than continuing to move further and further away from Gods true intent for his people - which is to love one another and bless him in our obedience…

Preach!!! I’m just glad to hear that you are okay after all the evil things said to you. I agree with all you said. You have people who love you on your blog. We love your spirit and your humor, everything that makes you you.

Hi B.Scott. I am a straight black woman and I am so so sorry for the experience you had with that other website. I too was shocked by the negative feedback. It made me sad.
But I really do love you. You are a brave, positive, and loving spirit. You always make me smile and THERE IS A LIGHT IN YOU THAT NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE AWAY!!!!
You keep going B. Scott and know that you are touching and inspiring lives everyday.
Elise
P.S. I know we are suppose to keep it positive in ‘08, but just wanted to say you are classier than that other site

B.Scott, I must confess I’m not usually one of the visitors who feels the need to leave a comment but this story in particular moved me to do so. As a gay, african american male I am no stranger when it comes to hate (both having experienced it and having struggled in trying to contain it against those who may seemingly deserve it back). The truth of the matter is none of us should be judging one another for anything.
We are all human, and we are all living and learning as we struggle to understand our existence day by day. I realize people have their beliefs, but that doesn’t mean you have a right to condemn others simply because they don’t live the way you think they should
I applaud you for addressing this issue in a manner that is both intelligent and very much realistic. Keep up the work B. Scott and continue to spread the positive energy that you do, your work won’t go unnoticed.

I must commend you on who you are, the inspiration that you give others and your faith in the Lord. Earlier today I talked about how I feel in my heart that you are more spirtually connected to the Lord than ’straight’ people. From and educational and a spirtual background I have learned that God is about acceptance and love. What is going on is simply unbelievable… but I know that you will triumph and will come out even stronger…take care and let the hate roll off your back and under your feet and stomp it away
James on March 24, 2008 at 11:35 pm #
Agreed! I never understood how people in ANY minority could be so hateful to anyone else. If you have experienced HATE in your life; why would you want to place that hate onto someone else?
MAKES NO SENSE.
I’m biracial, black and filipino and gay as well. AND I’M DAMN PROUD!

I was speechless after reading this post the first time, but now my random thoughts have formed into one cohesive point/idea.
Simply put:
I have never been able to understand why the ones who love GOD and “know their bible like the back of their hand” or claim to be spiritual hate the most! It really drives me crazy. I want to know if I’m missing something. Maybe I’m not thinking of the GOD they’re talking about. I dont know. It’s just something I feel will never change. It may get better, I hope, but I dont think it will change.
I work for The US Department of State (for now) - and someone said to me… “I hope you know that people dont like you. We dont accept your lifestyle or you, we tolerate you” I thought about that forever.
Now there’s another chapter we can add to this saga of ignoramus

I just recently read a few of those negative comments on the ConcreteLoop site and was really annoyed at what I saw. The hypocrisy amazed me because a lot of them were preaching against the gay community and how it is not apart of the black entertainment community…oooohhhh, how I laughed at that mess! One minute they are venting against you and homosexuals, but when it comes to the Blind Items section of that blog I don’t see anyone complaining about the blind items concerning a DL black male celebrity or a DL lesbian celebrity!!! I bet the same people venting against you and gays in general were the first to respond to those DL blind items!! Keep doing you, B! I love you for the beautiful person that you are!!!

Gay african americans exist. Why do people pretend that they do not have gay relatives and friends that they love?
there were gay blacks who were apart of the civil rights movement. James Baldwin and bayard rustin for example. the video by darron that was posted mentioned that.

Praise the Lord. I am so sick and freakin’ tired of all this mess. Why can’t people worry about themselves and stop harping on others? They are just plain MISERABLE. You know what B, don’t even trip there will ALWAYS be haters hatin’ on you sweetheart. As long as you continue to be as splendiferious as you are the haters will multiply. I say bring it, cause for every hater there are a hundred love muffins.

I was extremely disappointed to hear about the negative, homophobic remarks that were left about B. Scott on the concreteloop.com website. It is hard being a member of the black community because you are automatically ridiculed for being different. For speaking articulately, for being too dark or too light, for having “bad hair,” for being gay or different in any way shape or form! This is the reason that there are so many black men are on the down low. Are these bloggers too stupid to know that the black church is full of homosexuals—including the pastors!
It was upsetting hearing the one comment that some moron wrote about how B. Scott is destroying the image of black men. Let me explain who destroys the image of black men: the brothers who commit robbery, rape, and homicide—as we see each and every day in the newspapers and on television. The ones whom abuse drugs and alcohol. The ones whom don’t take care of their families. The ones whom flood the black and Latino communities with drugs and violence. They are the disgrace! Currently, according to the New York Post, 1 in every 15 black men are incarcerated as opposed to 1 in 36 Latino men and 1 in every 106 white men. The black family is breaking down, black women are out here dying of AIDS more than any other group, 70% of black women are unmarried, our children are growing up more and more without fathers. Our community is in a state of devastation! How do we have time to pick on B. Scott? Why are we not protesting the thugs on the corners drinking 40’s? The video vixens?
B. Scott is very attractive, educated, talented, funny and well-mannered and the black community is lucky to have him! He presents a positive image of us. I want B. Scott to know that he is perfect as he is, he makes blacks look good and God has better things in store for him than some concreteloop.
God Bless!

Hey B. Scoooooooott!
I love your site and visit at least two times a day. I also visit concreteloop and was happy to see that other bloggers were starting to finally take notice to you!! I was shocked and upset when I heard about all of the BS on CL and I was even more upset that you will no longer have post on there. BUT please know (and I know you do) it will be their lose not yours. You were bringing your diverse fan base to that site.

What really gets me is this sense of entitlement people seem to have when they take it upon themselves to give you unsolicited advice on how they think you should live your life.
Kevin on March 25, 2008 at 7:36 am #
That’s it. You’re full of Love B.– surely you’re more fit for the Kingdom than those who spew negativity and hate. But thanks be unto God that Jesus died for the “good” and the “bad” that in Him we might both be reconciled to God through His sacrificial body.. the Body of Christ. There’s a ministry in your message and only time will tell what impact this has on eternity. Love on…
Erica Nicole on March 25, 2008 at 7:39 am #
Amen to that B.!!! And yes Khadijah I so agree with you…there are people out there who feel that they have this right to tell others how to live their lives. When in fact, THEY themselves need to look inward and work on how they should live theirs. They are so focused on other people, they forget what’s #1 in their own lives.

AMEN!!!!! You’re such a postive role model B!! F*CK THE IGNORANT HATERS!
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard this song by Madge, but the words are GREAT and it’s about loving one another!

This message touched my heart… God Bless you. I had to forward your message (and link to the website) to everyone I know. You have a voice that I think everyone should hear. So many people in this world could learn from you. You are walking in your purpose… I love you for just being you….
Sorry but I have to go there... on March 25, 2008 at 10:23 am #
Read for yourself what the apostle Paul said at 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes , nor men who lie with men , nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.” Note that Paul specifically mentioned those who evidently take on a passive sexual role and those who assume a more active “male” role in their immoral relations. Thus he made it plain that God disapproves of all homosexual acts.
This is also evident from Paul’s words at Romans 1:18-27: “God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way . . . God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them . . . That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene.” Here Paul specifically condemned both male and female homosexuality. He condemned homosexual practices as unnatural and “obscene.”
Many would perhaps respond to this by saying that the Bible’s viewpoint is simply archaic, outmoded. But when you think about it, who knows our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual makeup better than our Creator? God made man and woman, and he put within them the great attraction they have for each other. (Genesis 1:27, 28) He did not make them to have a sexual attraction for someone of the same sex. Furthermore, God has determined that sexual relations between a man and a woman should take place only within the marriage arrangement.—Hebrews 13:4.
This does not work a hardship on us. At Isaiah 48:17, God says that he is “the One teaching you to benefit yourself.” Yes, HE knows what helps us and what harms us. Although to some the Bible’s teachings may seem hard to follow, they are always ‘healthful teachings,’ that is, beneficial to the mind and the body. (Titus 2:1) Homosexuality, on the other hand, can only be detrimental to one’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
THIS IS WRONG on March 25, 2008 at 10:38 am #
THE BOTTOM LINE IS……YOU CANNOT CONVINCE US THAT BEING GAY ISNT A SIN…..ITS WRONG…SIMPLE AS THAT……YOU LOK SILLY LOOK AT WHAT U HAVE ON(THE CLOTHES)…SMH…… WHAT DO U HAVE BETWEEN YOUR LEGS? CAN YOU GIVE BIRTH TO A CHILD????
concerned on March 25, 2008 at 11:27 am #
My problem with the last response is that its not for you to worry about whether that man is sinning or not - its for you to worry about your own sins. Matthew 7:1 says JUDGE NOT FOR THATS THE “same” WAY YOU’LL BE JUDGE… So dear friend, be very mindful of all of the energy you put into B.Scott’s issues - and consider your own. Can you really cast out a fleck in your neighbors eye - when more than likely you have a stone in your own? The point of this post - I believe - was to encourage ppl to stop being so negative. Consider if you had said what you just said with out degrading him or trying to tear him down? You can catch more flies with honey than you’ll ever catch with vinegar. That’s all I have to say. Wait. One more thing - I never heard B.Scott trying to convince anyone to Be B.Scott… all I ever hear him saying is this is where he is - this is who he is… So why all the condemnation?
Black People Make Me Sick! on March 25, 2008 at 11:46 am #
What really gets me is how all Christians like to focus on homosexuality, but other sins go by the way side. They like to snare the ir nose and point their fingers at people who they feel are spiritually inferior.
You CANNOT quote Bible scriptures to me and expect to raise any valid points. Did you ever stop to think of who wrote the books of the Bible. Who complied the books into one anthology? Did you ever stop to ask where are the other “holy” writings and why weren’t they included in this version of the Bible.
Also the original Bible wasn’t written in modern english. The Bible has been translated and transformed over the years, how can you be sure that you’re getting the original message, even if you do believe the Bible was divinely inspired?
I guess what I’m trying to get at is that you are all grown ups and can think for yourselves now, why not try it?

B– Your website is awesome!
When people are tearing down, instead of lifting up– it is usually more about their own flaws and weaknesses than the person they are criticizing–misery loves company. There is enough room at the top for everyone…I wish you all the success in the world!
For all the Jesus Freaks: Remember when you point your finger at someone else - there are three pointing back at you.

Hello B.Scott. Stumbled upon your website while looking at others. You have something that is very entertaining and you should keep that and expand it if it makes you happy. I am a bible believing Christian and most definitely am NOT hating in 2008 nor am I judging because that takes place after this life and is only done by God as I’m sure you know! Christ represents love and those that do not love you are not of Christ. God made and loves you but what seems to get lost in all the hoopla is that we are all sinners and that is what GOD does not like. Our sin, the things we do that are not pleasing to him, not the actual person. This is your website and by no means am I speaking any sort of hate or evil. I pray for you and your success with the gifts and talents that God has placed in you. I also pray that a true Christian will have an opportunity to express God’s love for you through ministry here on earth so your beauty and talent can have life forever after this life……..God Bless!! and Take Care
