Mariah Carey On SNL!

Love muffins, just in case you missed SNL last night, Mariah Carey performed “Migrate” and “Touch My Body” off of her upcoming album. Mariah Carey looked really divinely amazing, the best she has in her life! I can’t believe she is almost 38 and those legs, take me higher lord! For the performances to have been last minute, I think she sounded great! After this she will certainly have her 18th #1 when “Touch My Body” (it’s already #4 in airplay in the nation) is released for sale March 24th on iTunes and don’t we just love the groove of “Migrate” - grown and sexy!

   I knew I missed this last night, but I’m glad I got to see the clip right here. She looks great! And her dancers rocked it! I’m a dancer so that’s why I mentioned her dancers here too, because I looked at how they executed the moves to her song. And its different from the video response I did too (mine was salsa).

   Migrate is my new jam yo! That song is gonna explode if it’s ever released as a single. The performance were good enough for me. T-Pain looked dapper and Ms Thing looked boss! Love the pose at the end when she took off the shades. Her voice is there but she clearly held back. Can’t wait to hear her sing one of the ballads on the album.

   Hey hilltop2 - I agree with you, the diversity in dancers. But the diversity only happens in hip hop. I’m originally a salsa dancer, and in salsa dance teams, you don’t see the same kind of diversity, especially for females like myself. (Tsk Tsk) Its also the reason why I feel like I can’t perform anywhere except for when I’m social dancing or when I am in my apartment filming myself…(I know, sad isn’t it?)

   But I do agree with you on the diversity of dancers here. That is what I like to see ;).

   Right!! It’s simply a beautiful thing. And I’m sad to hear about your situation but don’t ever let it deter you from dancing or performing. Keep doin’ what you do. Erica you are a fighter.. I’ve read quite a bit of your comments. lol. Though it may get you down at times, I encourage you to keep striving to make your presence known in the world of salsa dancing.     She sounded good. Loves me some Mariah. I named my daughter Ariah after her. Anywho, HILLTOP2, I thought I was the only one who noticed Trey Lorenz. That man got a voice on him. It’s good to see that he is still singing with her. He is/was very underrated.

    On first listen it was generic but cool. After start/ stoppin it to listen to the lyrics, its RIDICULOUSLY HOT.

    The chanting, the bass, the melody, the vocals. It’s gonna blow up. Just wait til u hear the HQ version.

    @nicole. I agree. Her voice was just flat. i just kinda attributed it to the fact that she has changed the style of songs she’s singing. I’ve never been a fan but its clear the long gone are the days of Vision Of Love. Now its all about sex and radio appeal for her. which includes breathy meaningless radio friendly crap. But because she’s still Mariah Carey, she’s above doubt or criticism.

    I’ve been a long time Mariah fan/supporter. But I’m not feeling neither song, right now. I mean Touch my Body is growing on me but hasn’t gotten there yet. Her voice was a bit weak, but she hit that last note on TMB. The dancing was ok, but I could nto stop staring at her legs. OMG. Even when she switched to jeans.     I like the song but I’m waiting for the 2008 We Belong Together the classic Mariah, I have not been blown away by her material thus far. I have been a Mariah Carey fan since DAY 1: Mariah self titled and I kinda want her to take the route of Toni Braxton and get back to basics the classic Mariah. More ballads and more of the lyrics that made Mariah Carey my favortie female singer of all time but the song is definately hott and something I can club and dance to

    Mariah can never win though… i’m not saying any of ya’ll have this opinion, but public consesus on Mariah is basically either ’she’s boring, she warbles so much, she pretends she’s so sweet, she fucked her boss to get to the top’ or, by the exact same people, ‘why is she doing this Rnb, She cant sing anymore, shes such a hoe, shes so extra’.
    This despite the fact shes been doing real RnB for 12 years now, pioneered the sound and has been in the game 18 years.

    People need to stop thinking that THEY own music rather than the artist singing it. Has anyone taken time out to think that perhaps, just perhaps this is the music mariah loves, wants to do and is passionate about. She’d be selling out if she did ballads cos thats not what she enjoys but what people say to do.

    You know something? I noticed that her voice is not the same anymore. Remember when she came out with “Vision of Love” wayyyy back in the day? Her voice was a lot stronger back then, and she would hit those high notes. Now we don’t hear that anymore.

    I know she’s getting older and stuff, but I would love for her to try and sing like she used to. If not, then its all good, she still rocks anywayz.

    She looks good…but come on we all know she aint much of a performer. and why her dancers look like dey in their practice rags. come on now. at least give em a performance look. im a dancer and they are wearing almost exctly what i do when practicing. and t-pain look like a tallahassee mess. just like dese damn locals. lol
