Work Your Weekend!

March 7, 2008

1. Drink This! “Pineapple Fizzy”
bottle-pop.jpg

This bubbly beverage is just the right one for an evening celebratory toast or sipping over a late brunch. This recipe makes an entire pitcher’s worth, so feel free to share.

2 1/2 c. Champagne
5 c. Pineapple Juice
1 c. Vodka
Juice of one lemon
Juice of one orange

2. Watch This! “The Bank Job”

Starring Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows, Richard Lintern, this is the true story of an East London bank heist in the early 1970s. Just think Oceans 11 without the Las Vegas glitz and Gucci suits. Director Roger Donaldson combines honest thievery with mayhem, mistrust and malfeasance in this film.

3. Wear This! “The Man Bag”

Whether you’re going to Starbucks, Ballys or a weekend trip to Vegas, you can’t go wrong with a big bag. And we’re talking about guys this time. The mini Coach man purse is so 2003. This spring, the men’s lookbook has a few carryalls from Fendi to Phillip Lim that will really enhance your wardrobe. Big is where it’s at–get into it!

4. Hear This! “Raheem Vaughn—Customer”

We just love Raheem Devaughn. The video for his second single, “Customer”, surfaced this week. If you like it, you’ll find it on his new album, “Love Behind the Melody”.

5. Do This! “Rock the Runway”
la-fashionweek_03/07/2008_02

Los Angeles does not compare when it comes to the fashion extravaganzas that take place in the major hubs–Paris, Milan, New York–but it’s still interesting to check out the shows. If you can get in. From March 7-March 14, trunk shows, exhibitions and parties will pepper Los Scandalous with a little extra life.

So loving the new Raheem song AND video. Although many argue he went “commercial” on this last album.
