   I’m in two minds about it. I like it, but feel that I like it because i’m such a hardcore Mariah fan.
   What I feel is the problem is that this would be funny if mariah didn’t act like that in every video and so it really looked like his imagination was running wild and being ridiculous…however, she does!!! And so it takes away the effect, ya know?

   I like it anyway, i think it’s cute.

    I love Mariah and the song is undeniably catchy. However….it’s sounds so similar to everything else she does. Having said that….the hook is in my head.

    The video is lackluster to me. I know it’s intended to be campy but it’s not quite what I was expecting.

    It’s still great to see Mariah going strong after all these years.

    TO TIA MIA: YES!

    indeed, I adore MIMI and will support and whatever she does; all she needs to do is throw away all of her 90’s outfits!
    I know thats probably the “theme” of the video (I hope!) but girlfriend needs a new stylist… those mini dress, stocking and all are not 2008!

    i like the music video.

    i think it really fits the song. the song is not one of mariah’s best (musically and lyrically), but it’s definitely one of her “most fun” works. “touch my body” is a light and fun song that is not meant to be taken seriously and the music video captures that well.

    the video is evidently rushed but it doesn’t really matter because it’s a simple concept to shoot and because it didn’t entail anything groundbreaking (fancy camera movement, lighting etc.) that would take a long time to set up. it is safe in technical production aspects but it doesn’t aim to be flashy or edgy anyway.

    props to MC for being secure enough to make fun of herself. it was such a treat to see her poke fun at her girly yet flirty twelve-year old image through the “princess and unicorn” and “school girl in uniform playing frisbee” sequences. her sense of humor in making this video clears up her hard-to-reach diva image. and it must be said, she’s just really funny! even her overly coy and flirty looks to camera make me laugh my ass off.

    jack mcbrayer is such a hit in this video. he is as funny here as he is in 30 rock. his fan character here though is a bit interesting because the way i see it, brett made him look like a horny nerd fan (referencing to the pc/internet thing, the laser gun fight, the RC car race and of course the school girl fantasy [with that perv shot of MC's panties as she stands up]) and gay diehard disciple (the super funny high at the start of the video, jack’s singing-along to some the song’s lines) at the same time! very good characterization because i personally think that those two fan stereotypes are act quite faithful! haha! i mean the horny guys who like MC are often tagged as gay because MC is generally considered a female and gay icon. while the true blue gay disciples of MC often proclaim that MC’s the only woman they’d consider to be intimate with (after doing her hair and make-up of course! haha).

    and of course props to MC’s hothothothothothot body. i’ve never seen her this hot and in top shape since the “crybaby” music video. credit should go to brett too of course cause he knows how to shoot mariah in her slimmest angles. although i think MC still got a bit of computerized enhancement. one thing that’s starting to bother me though: her lips. don’t you guys think her lips are seriously getting thinner and thinner? perhaps it’s time for a collagen touch-up?

    The video is cute and supposed to be cheesy and campy, people would be complaining if she had a hot guy in it and she was seriously singing to him about touching her body!     I’d not be complaining at all. Mariah+Christian Monzon* + ‘Don’t Forget…’ video+ PURE HOTNESS.

    What I find annoying about the video is that it’s concept has been created around the fact that Mariah wanted to do something she does in every other video - show her body. There’s no other reason for it and it’s blindingly obvious.
    The whole ‘it’s a daydream’ thing doesn’t wash as A) Mariah is notorious for showing as much skin as possible at all times and B) she acts like that in every other video anyway, so that it’s his daydream and supposed to be ‘goofy, funny and a parody’ is stupid as that’s how she acts in alot of her other videos. The humor is lost.
    Further, and most importantly if the concept is to be held up, she answers the door in her underwear.
    Was this necessary? Did she need to do that to demonstrate how hot she was, or that she’s Mariah Carey? The fact she did it only detracts further from whole ‘his imagination/daydream’ concept as in the ‘reality’ of the video, she’s wearing less than in his dreams. It’s contradictory to what will no doubt be used as a justification (by her/fans/universal/whoever) for the silliness and ’sluttiness’ of it/

    Video’s such as ‘It’s Like That’ were a breath of fresh air…it was classy yet modern, sleek yet sexy. She looked sexy without even trying, and that’s where she goes wrong. Just look at her last week in NY…how amazing did she look without going all out?

    Don’t get me wrong…I enjoy the video, but i’m a hardcore, hardcore Mariah fan and will overlook the flaws in favour of getting on with it and enjoying her. I just think it’s ill thought through.
    I think the Pink outfit - such cuteness, the Dining table - hysterical, their chemistry comes across great. There’s some good elements to the video.

    But you what’s most ironic about the video?? She looked young,fresh and at her very sexiest at the end when she’s just in jeans and a tshirt. THAT was hot and THAT is the look she should go for.

    *B.Scott, WHY is Christian Monzon not a future baby daddy!? That man is F-iiine! Or was he and i’ve missed it!??????

    eh.. for a first video off an album, it’s kinda wack. since it’s mariah, it’ll sell and everyone will love it. i like that she is staying classic mariah but the 90’s outfits are getting sooo old.

    was she wearing socks with that silver dress?? like knee highs or something? or were those just butt ugly boots??

    i’m not trying to hate on mariah, but i was just expecting more….
    janet on the other hand.. now that’s a good first single she has, feedback is great!!

    I get the concept…however, I feel like Mariah is singing the same songs over and over.. and this video is not doing ANYTHING for me….I agree that her album will be #1 and that she might have a few #1 singles…but what does that even mean these days…Soulja Boy and Flo-Rida have had #1 singles too…I was just expecting more.     The fact that there has to be a disclaimer about the concept of the video on this article kinda says alot.

    However, I don’t doubt for a second that this album will be a mega hit and that she’ll squeeze out a couple of No.1’s…I CANT WAIT!!!!

    No matter what Mariah does, she always gets criticized. Mariah is about to turn 38 years old - still a young woman. Many people half her age wish they looked as good as this woman looks!And there’s always a double standard when it comes to Mariah. Gwen Stefani happens to be OLDER than Mimi and I have never seen anyone criticize the woman. Madonna is another one. She’s like 12 years older than Mariah and still performed half naked at the Grammys 3 years ago and no one said anything. Anyways, I loved the video and wish Mimi nothing but the best.     Elias, Mariah Carey is anything BUT a studio singer. You’re right when you say she’s a singer - she’s not a performer - but in my opinion that’s a better quality to have than just being able to dance like all your other Janets, Jennifers, Ciaras etc.. The fact she can get on stage and belt it makes up for anything else.
    This in turn makes her more of an artist… she writes, sings and co produces everything she puts out - doesn’t that make her more of an artist than someone who has other people write and produce their music, has major assistance in the studio with vocals and then has someone else coreog their dance moves???
