I’ve seen this woman on the streets in NYC and on interviews and I have to disagree with the assertion that it’s autophobia, but that’s my opinion. When I’ve seen her she actually seems like one of the happiest people around. It was her extreme love of animals specifically big cats (lion, tiger, leopard, jaguar, cheetah, couger..etc) that has made her take this extreme. In her mind cats are beautiful creatures and she’s used her face as a canvas to represent that love… I say more power to Jocelyn for being herself in the FACE of others who disagree with her lifestyle. Oh and her and her ex husbands philantripic contributions are immeasurable in the NYC area for the arts and education. GO JOCELYN continue to help those that otherwise can’t help themselves.

BeautifulBoy, I have to completely disagree with you. Your body is a TEMPLE. If you truly embraced that, and loved yourself, you would never want to do anything to change what you look like!! It’s SELF-HATE, I agree with that 100%. How do you love yourself and destroy who you are to be “as beautiful as a cat” *HA* I laugh in the face of anyone who agrees with changing the person you were born to be! End of story.

p.s. these pictures are very disturbing, I can barely stand to look at them…

actually the truth abiut this woman is that she was married to a very emotionally abusive husband who made her get around 20 some plastic surgeries. But after she got these surgeries her husband left her for a younger woman and she has been trying to correct her face ever since. It’s a pretty sad story.

I really don’t understand the reasoning behind saying this woman hates herself if she thinks in her heart of hearts that she looks beautiful. Is it because she’s had cosmetic surgery that makes her have self hatred or is it because it seems drastic to most? If she’s happy with herself and the way she looks how is it self hatred. Yes she had a very mutually abusive relationship with her ex husband who she divorced and then reconciled with and who she recently (2007) amicably departed from again. So like Jay-Z said, “[Hollywood]…it ain’t for everybody.” I give her props for being her. Just my OPINION don’t take it to heart.

Why would I take it to heart? We’re merely having a mature conversation about the topic at hand.
You say u give her “props for being herself” . If she did this to please HER ex husband, how is she being herself? Trust me, she doesn’t even know who she is anymore. She changed who she was to please someone, who in the end left her. He himself, said he didn’t even recognize who she was up close anymore. You really think she’s happy? C’mon now, be REALISTIC!

Ya Girl I’ve always enjoyed your comments on post, and like you said we’re not taking it to heart. We just disagree on this one, I am sure they’ll be more we disagree on, but I truly respect your opinions because you seem to be open minded as well. I just really have a hard time passing judgement and I guess I would really like to hope in my heart of hearts that she truly is happy with the results of this otherwise if she’s not than it is a sad state of affairs. But I would hate to throw daggers at her (while she’s down) because I’ve seen others do worse maybe not through cosmetic surgery but putting someone else’s happiness before their own. Love is hard, and maybe she is hurting inside and this could be in fact self-hate, but I hope and pray it’s not and that she really is happy. I guess I am just overly optimistic.

i don’t think she hated herself. in interviews she said she was upset that her husband cheated on her with another woman. so she started focusing on herself and in that process, she realized she wanted to look like a cat. i think she just had bad plastic suregons (sic). her skin looks awful but that lacefront is hot. if you ever see her in person you know she doesn’t hate herself. she loves attention.

It’s sad that people get addicted to plastic surgery. Just a little fix here and a little fix there. It’s disgraceful that there are surgeons who do this.

Self hate? no, No self esteem at all. However, I admire her for putting herself out there and living her life & if she’s happy then I’m happy for her. It’s just so tragic to me that anyone would make such drastic changes to please another person.

This is just plain sad. SMH Wow! All of us have those days when we feel like this is the worse day of my life, but we should be thankful for those days because it could be so much worse. Awful!

Jordan, that is a lie! Her ex husband did not make her get those pastic surgeries. In fact, he said that was one of the reasons he left her. He did not recognize her any longer. Yes, he cheated on her, but the plastic surgeries were HER IDEA! She was trying to compete with mistress and her cat obsession took over leaving her to look like a FREAK!
