New Video: Asia Cruise - Selfish

As you may remember, Asia’s label spread the word about her using an original mysterious type of promotion where they wouldn’t reveal her real image/identity, but rather only released some pictures with her silhouette. The promo campaign was called “Who Is Asia Cruise?”, well Asia has premiered the music video for her single “Selfish”, revealing herself for the first time to the media. There was much speculation that Asia Nitollano (from the PCD reality show) was this “Asia Cruise”, and those rumors were way off. Love muffins what are your thoughts about Asia who revealed her image today and will release her debut album later this year?

…trust me, I am not the “model type” either, but the whole mysterious persona thing is because she doesn’t have the cookie-cutter cute pop girl look… average looks, not super thin and doesnt look fake(cosmetically altered). The song is like everyone else is saying average… but the whole thing was a let down for me, since they used some super sexy silhoutte and it ends up looking nowhere near like the real artist.

Stop hating!!! I’m glad she’s not cookie cutter. The industry needs REAL artists that can really sing. I’ve seen this girl live and she can blow! I loved the video and i think she’s beautiful!!! ROCK ON ASIA You’re going to the top.

Go head girl!! I like the song and whole vibe. I didn’t get into the whole “who is Asia Cruise?” so there is no disappointment to me. I am so tired of seeing black and white all the damn time. Hell let an Asian, Hindi, Indian, and all those other persuasions in the door too and mix it up.

I actually go to school in JAX and never heard of lil ma, but the track is hot. There’s alot of talent in the Asian gene pool, but no one ever hears them out. We are so stuck on powerhouse singers and that shit is old…. like really Beyonce… shut up already.I hope that she makes it big, but its going to be really hard. Not that many people are going to take kindly to an asian popstar–remember dude from American Idol who was the first to go? Cassie? Nicole Scherzinger? They were no worse than any of these other no-talent fools and got no love.

ok her love interest is cute and is that dre from making the band in this vid if it is him then he ought to be ashame because ole’ girl looks way to young for him ,because that end scene looks a lil to mature for a girl her age i thought it could of being a little more tasteful (if she is under 18) as for the song its ok nothing special just another one of those catchy songs that might last longer than expected or just have 5min and go.

I really like the song. I think she’s pretty cute. However, I think her career will be a short one. People just haven’t really been giving the young female artists much love these days. It’s rare they return with a 2nd or 3rd single- or at all for that matter. Good luck to her though!

Besides amerie… the whole asian scene in the american hip-/hop,pop,r&B industry is very scarce..

shes really what it needs..
no altercations just a young girl on her way to the top ..

…let me clarify something to those who took my comment out of context… my comments were not deemed to be derogatory… it’s nothing wrong with being an individual… not fitting the cookie cutter mold IS a good thing, my comment was showing the STARK DIFFERENCE between the ambigous sexy silhoutte promotion her label did, which is in contrast to the real artist who has more of a sweet/good girl persona, which is not what her ad campaign suggested. I think the industry needs more variety, and Asia has room to share her talent, so for those E-ballers who think I meant otherwise, come correct, LISTEN(read carefully) BEFORE you SPEAK! If you noticed my definition of cookie cutter was nothing positive ie. being super thin and looking fake, thank you–case closed.

I heard this song over the summer and I think it’s hot… I was curious on who Asia Cruz was and now that i know im like you go girl lol…. I loved the dancing in the video, and I cant wait for her album to drop. work it out Asia.

ASIA CRUISE is in hawaii today! doing radio tour and catchin up with Chris Brown,Added another 25 radio stations today also “SELFISH”broke into top 40 billboard.The album is going to have something for everybody .Keep ya posted BOYCHEK! PITBULL
