While I’m on the topic of Mariah Carey’s “Honey”, here’s a little known part of Mariah Carey’s legacy. Internationally acclaimed Grammy winning house music DJ and producer, David Morales, has worked with a lot of artists (Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, U2, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross) across his career, but his most important and successful partnership has been with Mariah Carey. His first reworking of a Mariah Carey record was “Dreamlover” (1993), his versions of which are credited with popularizing the tradition of remixing pop songs into house records in addition to the tradition of the artist recording new vocals for the club remix. So here’s one of my favorite remixes they have done together below, Mimi unleashed some major stellar vocals on this remix here yonder!

I LIVE for MC’s house mixes (w/ Morales)…of course the best remix they did together was; Anytime You Need A Friend C&C Music Factory Dance Mix…OMGAH!!! I’d say 2nd would be Honey, then in a close 3rd Always Be My Baby (House Mix). I hate every other diva for the fact that they don’t re-record they remixes to there songs like Mariah (my #1 DIVA)!!! Great Posting BScott!

Agree with poster #1 for sure! BUT, my all time fav Mariah Remix would be of the song Butterfly–”Fly away”. When I heard her remix album she put out a few years ago, that song was the 1 I had on repeat EVERY day!

Yes Mariah is the only diva to re do her vocals on her remixes. So many other singers simply put a different beat and add a rapper to a song and call it a remix. Mariah doesn’t half-step and go the lazy -route on her remixes.
