Jam It or Slam It? Paula Abdul - Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow

January 19, 2008

Check out the first single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow” off Randy Jackson’s upcoming album, Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1 featuring vocals by Paula Abdul. Well even though I actually really like the catchy track that Paula is rumored to be performing at the SuperBowl’s halftime show on February 3rd, I still want to ask you love muffins should we jam or slam it?

I absolutely LOVE this song!!!!! It would be great if she had a hit again. I remember those days….

It’s catchy, but I don’t know. She’s a little too old to still be doing music like this but def way better than anything I would have thought I’d be hearing from her in 2008.

    not bad…go paula

JAM IT… I always knew Paula still had it. A lot of people like to downplay the dance/pop genre singers, but their music is always timeless, so in my opinion she’s never too old for a comeback… come on now people, it aint like shes 65 or something, and even if she was if she can still “boom kat” more power to ya!

Slam it! She sounds like she went to the T-Pain school of rhythm and blues.

  11. Grafittix on January 19, 2008 at 6:48 am #

ugh, i’m sorry but this is WEAK. Sounds so dated, like the late 80s/early 90s Paula’s used to. I can’t imagine this at the Super Bowl! You all do remember how Prince turned it out last year, don’t you?

  12. Chance on January 19, 2008 at 7:51 am #

    I LOVE IT!!!

This is Paula’s thing… remember when she was hot back in the day.. this was the singing style back then… her and Janet always had very similar styles.. but this is very pop.. i like it…BTW.. it also reminds me of a few tracks on the Blackout album (B.Spears).. and Blackout is a great dance album… every track is fierce.. I listen to it everyday..

Not bad at all; nice fun pop song. Now for Super Bowl, I don’t know. Why Paula Abdul? Were there no A-list performers available??? Definitely not at Prince’s level, but few folks are. But as a stand-alone pop song, it’s pretty good.

  14. Donelle on January 19, 2008 at 8:40 am #

I like it! Should be interesting to see a 40-something year old perform this though. HA!

  15. KenChanted on January 19, 2008 at 9:33 am #

I will have to JAM this one!!! Paula is doin it big! Love it….

  16. Brandon on January 19, 2008 at 9:51 am #

    I’m shocked

    SHOCKED.

The song is hot. It DOES have that 80s-90s sound that is Paula’s signature, but it does sound updated and club-hot. This is going to get HEAVY rotation in the clubs, it could possibly even do well on the radio.

Now, if Paula brings back her classic BOOM-KATS for a video this could be somewhat of a comeback.

    Damn, 2008…you got:

    Madonna

    Mariah

    Janet

    And NOW Paula Abdul?

Is this the year the veterans make a comeback to show these young bitches how to do it?

  17. Xcal2k3 on January 19, 2008 at 11:52 am #

Omg, i like it! Lemme find out Paula tryna comeback, I hope she brings it in the video

  18. KR on January 19, 2008 at 12:10 pm #

I would definitely love to see a video. I totally agree Brandon, it’s starting to look like that is what is happening.

  19. supergirllie on January 19, 2008 at 12:16 pm #

    It’s decemt

  20. rickyluvsit on January 19, 2008 at 12:47 pm #

I really like it. I’ve always loved Paula and her unique voice. “Blowing Kisses In The Wind” always gave me chills!!! I agree w/ Brandon!! The Veteran Pop Queens are the BEST and the young bitches need to take notes if they want to have long careers!

  21. The One on January 19, 2008 at 2:17 pm #

It’s definitely pop. It’s a very good song, but for someone established like Paula I thought it’d be something bigger. Her vocals are very weak on this and non assertive. I think this will be an okay album to get her feet wet again. I am excited to hear the followup singles.

  22. Mone't on January 19, 2008 at 8:02 pm #

yeah im waiting on the video…. and hold up Mariah’s coming back this year??? OH SHIT!!!!

yes cause these non singing youngin’s are on my damn NERVES (even though Paula can’t really sing anyway…)
    but yeahhhhh
    waiting
