Should Ellen DeGeneres Get “Iggy” Back?

October 17, 2007

I don’t know if you saw Ellen DeGeneres breakdown on her show, pleading with a California dog rescue organization called Mutts and Moms to return an adopted dog she had given to her hairdresser and two girls because it didn’t get along with the cats at the her house. When Ellen adopted a Brussels Griffon mix named “Iggy” she signed papers (though maybe she didn’t read the small print) saying if she can’t keep the dog herself she will return it. Due to Iggy being “rambunctious,” she gives the dog to her friend/hairdresser and her family. Mutts and Moms calls Ellen two weeks later to check on the dog. Ellen decides to tell the truth and the rescue group goes to hairdresser’s house and reclaims the dog. I don’t see why this couldn’t have been settled like adults instead of spoiled children! I mean who’s really thinking about the well being of Iggy, no one. (B. Scott shakes his head!)

And to make matters worst the lawyer for Mutts & Moms dog adoption agency told The Insider that Iggy has been placed in a new home! Well then. Thoughts?

I understand all of that but why was Ellen bawling like that on National TV. I love animals but it’s just a dog.

injustices happen everyday . matter of fact in my building one year agao … the owner of one of the apartments got a new boyfreind and with him came a pittbull . all of the board members were upset , because they did not like pittbulls , and harrassed her with legal fees , fines … in the end she moved….

I think it is great ellen exposed this fraud agency .

Ellen didn’t follow the rules. Nuff’ said.

The agency should have given the family the chance to adopt the dog (by the rules).

But hey…the agency owned the dog. Apparently they owned the dog when Ellen had him (the chip said so). They can do whatever they want with the dog.

This is so sad. That agency could care less about that poor dog, the family should have been given a chance to properly adopt the dog before he was placed in yet another home.
