Bill O’Reilly Is An Idiot

September 26, 2007

I tried to figure what to title this post but I think that pretty much sums it up! Bill O’Reilly made some shocking comments on his radio show on Sept. 19th that is finally getting people up in arms. They discussed it today on The View today and I couldn’t believe it. Bill O’Reilly went out to dinner with Al Sharpton and instead of enjoying a night out at one of the best restaurants in New York City, he made some tremendously racist comments. Take a look at the clip and some of the quotes. I can’t believe people still believe things like this in 2007.

“I think black Americans are starting to think more and more for themselves. They’re getting away from the Sharptons and the [Rev. Jesse] Jacksons and the people trying to lead them into a race-based culture. They’re just trying to figure it out. ‘Look, I can make it. If I work hard and get educated, I can make it.”

You know, I was up in Harlem a few weeks ago, and I actually had dinner with Al Sharpton, who is a very, very interesting guy. And he comes on The Factor a lot, and then I treated him to dinner, because he’s made himself available to us, and I felt that I wanted to take him up there. And we went to Sylvia’s, a very famous restaurant in Harlem. I had a great time, and all the people up there are tremendously respectful. They all watch The Factor. You know, when Sharpton and I walked in, it was like a big commotion and everything, but everybody was very nice.

“And I couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who [was] screaming,’M-Fer was, I want more iced tea.

“[It] was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn’t any kind of craziness at all.

The band was excellent, but they were dressed in tuxedoes, and this is what white America doesn’t know, particularly people who don’t have a lot of interaction with black Americans. They think that the culture is dominated by Twista, Ludacris, and Snoop Dogg.

oh my!! somebody is gonna hurt that man. After watching hip hop vs. america last night and then hearing this nonsense, i am just completely through with the opinion of others whether it be black, white, indian, mexican, asian or whatever and once everyone gets on that same note AMERICA will be alot better off.

there’s no denying it, his comments were not said in the best possible way. but i don’t think he meant any harm. how i see it is that he was tyring to encourage other “white” folks to mingle with blacks and help change their stereotyped perception of blacks. i’m black myself and that’s my opinion!!

What a condescending arse! An educated man could have conveyed his message of “we really are all same” much better. Ech!

    Just outright stupidity.

“There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who [was] screaming,’M-Fer was, I want more iced tea.”

First of all, who talks like that in ANY restaurant in America, and doesn’t get thrown out on their butt?

All Bill O’Reilly showed is that he has an extremely limited and narrow view of Black Americans, and black culture. All black people are not defined by and do not live by hip-hop!! Why don’t people get that? If anything he should be talking about all the young white kids who have co-opted this “hip-hop” culture and walk around imitating what they hear. If you can’t separate musical fantasy from real life, then you’ll forever walk around stuck on stupid, and natural selection will limit how far you go in life.

Oh, and Bill and Al are in bed together. Bill derides him one minute, pats him on the back the next. And it goes the other way, with Sharpton. He does not represent blacks.

What he said is less shocking than the fact that he seem genuinely surprised by what he “learned.” While he encouraged some commingling amongst the races, he also couldn’t believe that such a large group of blacks could be so well behaved and eat a meal without cursing each other out. Wow, them darkies have come so far.

Actually, I’m not surprised on bit. He’s a racist, period!
