The star from Hairspray, Nikki Blonsky, blew the crowd away with her performance of “Good Morning Baltimore” at this past weekend’s Pride celebration in San Francisco. Looks like she made a few friends when it was all over.
Adam Shankman, the film’s director and choreographer, picked her out of the thousands of people who auditioned for the coveted role and this ex-Coldstone Creamery scooper won the title. She realizes that two of her predecessors have gone down in history for this portrayal of Tracy Turnblad—Rikki Lake and Marissa Jaret Winokur—and she knows where she stands in comparison to them. She has said, “I’m not going to try to fill anybody’s shoes - I’m going to try to create a new pair of shoes!” We like the sound of that.

WWE superstar Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and young son were found dead in their Atlanta home early yesterday afternoon, according to WWE.com.
Though the situation is still under investigation, Benoit allegedly strangled his wife Saturday, smothered his son on Sunday and hung himself in his weight room on Monday.
Benoit’s wife had filed restraining orders in the past, due to domestic violence, and was currently filing for divorce.

I had the pleasure of attending the 2007 BET Awards Rehearsals yesterday at the Shrine Auditorium, where I had the opportunity of watching Stevie Wonder perform Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” for her tribute. Diana Ross will receive BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award at tonight’s awards.
I love me some Stevie Wonder, so seeing him perform totally made my day! In other B. Scott news, I went to the 2007 ASCAP Awards last night & interviewed all the honorees on the red carpet, and I have been going to all the parties including Benny Boom’s annual pre-BET Awards party at Montemarte Lounge in Hollywood.
