Verizon Dumps Akon and Gwen!

Verizon Wireless has abruptly pulled out as the presenting sponsor on Gwen Stefani’s current tour due to Akon’s Trinidad shenanigans.

During an Akon concert on the island last month that was unaffiliated with Mrs. Rossdale’s tour, the R&B singer danced provocatively with a 15-year-old fan. When the pictures and video popped up all over the net, the wireless provider suddenly got nerves and pulled out. Also, the company has removed all Akon ringtones and music from it’s devices and stores–including V Cast TV spots.

This pullout, so to speak, will cost Gwen’s tour almost $2 million. So much for “It Don’t Matter”!

I’m a big fan of Akon and his music but he crossed the line and he should realize that there are repercussions for his actions. Even if the girl was of age he shouldn’t have done it because if it was me I would be pretty pissed!!! It’s just too bad Gwen has to also suffer!!

However there is a huge issue that people have forgotten to report that was 18+ club, why was the girl in the club, and another thing, in the islands, that is socially acceptable dance, you even see it @ high school dances in Toronto, so honestly, maybe its just a cultural thing, but i don’t see the problem

This is not to personally attack you Simone but what the HELL is the World coming to when people say that something like this isn’t that big of a deal!!! And that you’re more pissed that a minor was in a club, what the Hell!!! He shouldn’t have done the dance no matter What or Where he was!!

In what islands is that a socially acceptable dance? Give me a break. Well, they obviously weren’t in the islands. What do they call that dance? The Horizontal Mambo?
